a malignant cancer spreads
in prime agricultural land
the Santos Company
gas wells ever expand

the waterways and aquifers
sullied with material not healthy
the corporate entity
aspiring to be more wealthy

campaigners outside fences
at drilling locations
wanting to stop the company's
sick infiltration

the fight to preserve the family farm
has been unheeded
company profitability
must be well seeded

a state government not listening
to scientist's info
seemingly it is more interested
in the gas field's revenue flow

as time goes by the waterways
and land will become sicker
all in the name of the Santos brands

He’d always been a schoolyard bully,
You want to know the truth,
He picked on those too young and silly
To stand up to the youth,
He’d ducked the boys in the village pond
And he hurt the girls as well,
And had a tattoo on his chest,
‘Born for Raising Hell!’

He didn’t learn, he was much too dumb,
He didn’t see the need,
He couldn’t tackle a simple sum
Or spell, or write or read,
But he thought the world had owed him some
So he took it, when he could,
And robbed his innocent victims by
Wearing the coward’s hood.

The police would carry him into court
And the judge would let him go,
‘He’s had a difficult childhood, so
We must be fair, you know!’
And he would laugh when he got outside
And steal the nearest car,
He thought that he was invincible,
Some sort of rising star.

He’d hang with others as dumb as him
Who lived by a borrowed creed,
Adopt a type of a uniform
By growing an ugly beard,
They’d take the gifts of the welfare state
And would swear to tear it down,
‘The time will come that we change the laws
When our army comes to town!’

He tamed a silly, submissive girl
And he beat her black and blue,
Then made her cover from head to foot
So her bruises didn’t show,
He taught her to be subservient
To fulfil his every need,
And quoted God, with an iron rod
‘‘Obey’ shall be your creed!’

He went to fight in a foreign war
And at first they held their ground,
They slaughtered populations to
Strike fear, in every town,
But a barbarous army like their own
Appeared, and refused to yield,
And he was taken a prisoner
Out there, in a foreign field.

He thought he was going to lose his head
As he’d taken heads, before,
But they were a little more barbarous
In the way that they fought the war,
‘We’re sending you back to meet your friends,
But you won’t have time to yell…’
Then strapped him onto a missile,
‘There you go… Go Raising Hell!’

duality
portrays itself
in common things
to examine them
is much like
self examination
therein
lies
two sides of one item

the patient is in need
of morphine
to ease his pain
the injecting of the drug
brings relief and calm
to his ailing body

the druggie in ***** lane-way
shoots up with an unclean
needle
he's in a dire position
transmittable
disease
in his system
a time bomb is ticking

a commonly used instrument
such as a syringe
gives and insight
into duality
which
abides in one item
This weekend the NRL final will be played
South Sydney and Canterbury Banks-town
Shall do battle on the hallowed footy ground
The match up will be a ripper for sure
There is little love lost between these teams
A sell out crowd is primed and ready to cheer
The fans in the stands will be rooting hard
As those twenty six men give it their all on the field
Up for grabs is the coveted victor's trophy
There is a lot of anticipation building
Across the state of New South Wales
We can't wait for the final to get here
The big day of league holds us intrigued
shadows now lengthen
as last streams of glinting light
ebb in the bushland
Still with me his memory stays
A boy I knew in childhood days
On street corner he bore the sun
From rain emptied road didn’t run!

They called him ******* up bit insane
His skin was numb sense felt no pain
Else why he would just aimless roam
Most of time outside of home!

If asked his name in whispered hum
Would say I don’t know knows my mum
What’s two plus two if asked some fool
His answer was not taught in school!

To a school he was though never sent
His class was road book firmament
All he knew was that syllabus
His own riddles and plus minus!

He was known as good for none
Except for pranks and some fun
Ill clad uncared like an urchin
There wasn’t a home with a boy like him!

Woke me one night footsteps and shouts
In a neighborhood house fire had broken out
Amid billowing smoke and leaping flame
The crowd was crying out the boy’s name!

He had gone in there without a thought
The fire’s fury he was afraid not
It seemed so silly this heroic feat
But the boy you know was too ******!

To this day it haunts me to know
Why he did that what to show
I heard the buzz rumors were rife
He had gone in there to save a cat’s life!

The way my hot coffee
ripples in a
Sunday morning sun
Sipping every inch,
Still thinking,
What was gone

Not until when this red,
white and blue striped mails
arrived from Mr. Mail Man

No, not sealed with kisses
nor those pretty flowers,
scented like a lavender

Your name written clearly
Printed dearly
This time, no heart doodles
Just a dripped of ink
carving the word "memories"
piled messily on the floor

Left unopened,
grabbed my cereal in a bowl
But then again, I'm just half of a whole

You don't need to re-roll
back the film
to black and white
because this isn't right
Forget about what happened that night

For now,
all I can see is how
darkness covers the moonlight*

Memories will haunt you forever if you won't go any farther :{
words fail to describe
the beauty and peace
found in the mountains sublime

the scenic panorama of the place
is captured so well
by those who live in
the mountain's veld

of trees towering to skies of indigo blue
of squirrels owls and fireflies
of streams pristine and pure

within the province
of mountain kin's hearts
there is an intrinsic
soulful yoke
inborn
of the mountain's
heritage
