The Sunsets Were Turning Gray And Colorless,
While The Songs Of Birds Vanished More Everyday,
The Lush Green Of The Fields Turned Brindle,
As The Leaves On The Trees Grew Brown And Brittle

At Dawn Crickets Shook Off Their Frosty Legs,
While Butterflies Thawed In The Weakening Sun,
The Scent Of Fallen Leaves Had Took Hold Of The Air,
As Winter's Fingers Tickled The Rolling Hillsides
I Know Its August.. The Year Is Going By So Fast, Fall Is Getting Closer And So Is The Up Coming School Year.

I sit alone
Conjuring up metaphors with a sleepy mind
as absinthe, poured into my glass
reminds me of passion
all heat and
bittersweet
it tempts me just the same

I wait for the sugar to dissolve
the same way
I wait for love
Believing it will be sweeter
and like love
it only distorts my thoughts
blurs my vision
making my tongue thick
But I have no use for words right now

The floor
         begins
               to sink

I feel self-conscience
smoking my cigarette
vulnerable
Aware of the men in the room
How their eyes follow intently
the lines of my hand to mouth gestures
Their appetites wetted
the way my lips
w r a p and f o r m
Some obscene whisper
Full and round
I wonder if they've guessed
my lipstick and ******* are the same
perfect shade of pink
I blow the smoke out
and away
They smile

Dark
hungry thoughts
join the fog around my head

The floor
        is falling
             further

A man stands next to me
Insisting his attentions
Pushing his body against my arm
I look up at him and smile
I know he will not force me to think clearly
He pretends we've met before
and I

imagine

I am the ice in his whiskey
Melting slowly

Waiting
to be absorbed
against his lips
between his teeth
he will bite and crush me
pushing me
down
inside of him
He wouldn't even taste me
A cool burn then
nothing

The
    floor
       is far
             away

Just love me, love.
That's all I need,
Not jewels or things.
Tis on love I feed.

Just love me, love.
Show me passion.
Teach me to trust,
Teach me compassion.

Just love me, love.
Sweep me off my feet,
Carry me upstairs.
Say I'm yours to keep.

Just love me, love.
When you are blue.
I'll stroke your head,
And kiss it too.

Just love me, love.
When you are glad.
Our hearts are one,
I couldn't be sad.

Just love me, love.
When I am fat.
And wear polka dots
And a red hat.

Just love me, love.
When I am sad.
And hold my hand
All through the bad.

Just love me,love
And understand,
You are the rock,
on which I stand.

Just love me, love.
When I don't know
Who I am or
Where I should go.

Just love me, love.
That's all I need.
And your face seems
So kind, so kind...

Just love me, love.
Just love me, my love.
My father and my uncle are struggling with alzheimers.

Your bones are white
like a full moon
on an aqua night
like clouds
in a raspberry sunrise

And now you walk
on green grass
barefoot

walking
walking
on
summer mornings
looking back at me
with a white cloud smile

And i say
"darling,oh darling
walk
until you see the sun
creep over the green hills
until you see the milky moon
cuddle with the grey rain cloud
until your heart is red
red
like the leaves in fall....
WALK
WALK WITH YOUR
BRAVE WHITE BONES!
on the orange sun's ray."

There she went
walking
walking with her naked toes

We poets
see things
hear things
say things
that others don't.

We see the beauty
within everything
We try to write the beauty we see
with words

when we love a person
we just don't love them for the figure
of their body
Or whatever else society says
that makes a person beautiful or perfect
When we love
we love them for
the sound of their laugh
the way they smile
talk,walk
the way they look at you
the way they kiss you
or the way they tell you things

We love them for past
for their mistakes
the small things
we poets love

We love the way the water glitters
the sun shines
and the way it rains
everything

We poets wish we could say things
and people would love the words you say

but  we poets and can cry tears
and make it look like a poem

people who hate poems though
we could feel sad for them
cause we know they'll never
be able to say the words of their heart

We
Are
Poets
Be happy
for we are poets

I told her
I finally told her
the words behind my teeth
and shared them so she could swallow my words
and rest nice in her belly
but she spat them out
and walked away

and that was it...
