With all due respect,
Its been a hard day.

Could you politely,
Shut up.
life improvised
made up as we go along
future unscripted
dreams swirl in my mind
rafting on the white rapids
swimming with dolphins.
Ten hour shifts
not for the faint-hearted
and definitely not for me,
but She says,
baby
faint heart never won fair lady,
so
I win, I think,

One-nil to me.

She puzzles over this
I blow her a kiss
and slip back into the
dream.

Teaching oneself
is much harder
than teaching others:
there will be excuses
for not being diligent
can't get used to change
anxious, exiting my shell
god, I fear the world

To be as capricious as I
And not drive people away
Is a delicate act.

My brain’s a vending machine
with the snacks all stuck—
ideas jammed,
buttons broken,
and no one’s got the right coin.
