Red
Her eyes were red,
They showed her pain
It was obvious,
That she was crying again.

Her voice, just a whisper
Insignificant as dust
She's searching for someone
Someone to trust

She smiled and laughed
While her eyes remained empty
Strange that a smile
Can hide things so deadly

Her wrists show no scars
But her soul, tampered and broken
Their words were like weapons
Invisible when spoken

Her eyes were red,
They showed her pain
It was obvious,
That she was crying again...

She was cold. Heartaches can do that to the soul.
He was bored. He wanted to get in her heart of gold.
She saw something good in the no-good boy's eyes,
Their blue reminded her of summer days,
and that filled her with warmth.
He wrapped his arms around her and filled her with lies,
Beautiful, perfect, washed out lies.
And for once, she trusted.
And from then on, she fell into in the depths.
Once he had won her heart,
Appearing cracked and scarred,
He took a step back, and left her in the cold.
The boy with the ocean eyes,
Couldn't see her heart of gold.
Sometimes I wonder why
I am the way that I am.
I watched the
sunrise this morning.
The way the sky had
started out black and then
slowly began to turn light
with each new pastel color;
until the blazing sun finally
set fire to the horizon
and filled the whole sky.
It reminded me of
what happens
to my heart
every time
I'm around you.
It starts out dark.
But then you come
along and suddenly
it's filled with light.
And even the jet planes
that left their trails
across the sky
were colored bright orange.
Just like my scars,
they too,
were covered with light.
