when i think of you:
i feel first. that is all.
thought comes later, after one thousand nine hundred and twenty nine kisses
five cups of tea
the golden late afternoon
suspended around us as we move through space and not time--
i feel you,
as your hand clasps softly around the back of my neck
and my fingers explore the muscles of your back,

i think i knew you before we met. before i looked up at you,
saw your soul was electric through the night, and it was inviting me
to dance--           you are the first time i was hesitant to love, because
you are so precious.
my eyes are full of stars, you tell me; i think
i pulled them out of the sky
just so you could see them.
To see the world with a million eyes
To see the stars light the dark night
To watch the cosmos
And see the universe
To hold back the hands of time
And capture a single moment
Lock the light of a star into place
And see the glory shining
Held high above the world to see
Pure energy
Morping into a phenomenon
Gazing into the sky
Displaying a sense of direction

You tasted like cinnamon, like summer.

You were a shade lighter than caramel, and your eyes were forever swirling, green and gold and chocolate.

When you made me promises, I dared to believe them.

I was wrong and you are a liar.
Our story might as well be finished.

You said you didn't want to be alone.

You did not want to lose your chance at being safe and content for a whirlwind romance with a girl you'd danced with in the dark.

You said we were like Romeo and Juliet, only I was Romeo and she was Paris.

And instead of throwing it all away in the fires of passion for a chance at romance, a chance to make our story end better, you chose the safe route.

You chose Paris.

She combed her hair with the night sky
& then let loose those bits of stray galaxy that had embedded themselves in the wisdom of her follicles.

..& she said, "Bleed with me,
bleed with me into crimson symphonies
& I guarantee our eyes will kiss the sight of dreams unfolding."
I can fly no more
My wings are spent
As is my incentive
Mabey its time

To let go of the past
And finally rest
So please catch me
as I fall from this blue sky
What Will It Take
By Song Bird

(Verse 1) How many must we refuse and deny
Before you and I realize our shame
How many eyes gotta cry in vain
Before we take away their pain
How many lives must we claim
Before we decide to make a change
So what will it take for us
To put down our arms
And make our stand
Stop bringing harm
To our fellow man

(Chorus) What will it take to make a stand
What will it take to take someone’s hand
What will it take to make our stance
What will it take to take a chance
What will it take to say we have had enough
What will it take to give away our love
What will it take

(Verse 2) Because of the way we disregard
And close our doors and our hearts to others
There are those sleeping on cardboard
On concrete floors, who are our brothers
And our sisters, who can’t afford to eat
Or have the clothing to stay warm
Have no shoes for their feet
And are left tattered and torn
No homes just the streets they roam
So don’t talk change, because talk is cheap
If you and I ain’t gonna make a change
(Chorus repeats 1)

(Verse 3) Because of the way we disregard,
Soldiers bombard poor countries
With mortars, while children starve
Go hungry and get our cold shoulder
As our wars pillage and burn their village
Turn their underprivileged places
Into our coliseums, giving them no relief
Just sad faces that have seen too much carnage
Strife and defeat as we take away their very freedoms
And tarnish their dreams, so don’t talk change
Because talk is cheap, if you and I ain’t gonna make a change
(Chorus repeats 1)

(Verse 4) Because of the way we disregard
Our earth is scarred by our many demands
Left hurt and discarded by our own hands
As we disgorge our resources
Leaving our shores and sky to surely weep
Our rainforests torched, our lands scorched
Our oceans, rivers and seas are forced to bleed
Nowhere for you or me to retreat
So don’t talk change, because talk is cheap
If you and I ain’t gonna make a change
(Chorus repeats 2)

(Outro) Isn’t it time we become the prayer
Show the world that we care
Loving we can spare, loving we can share
So help the ones who are in despair
What will it take for you to be there?
