We're following the full moon
Morrison crooning "LA Woman"
dancing around the burning fire pit
remembering a prehistoric time when
we helped share light with the tribe
through heavy exhales
the lung-piercing smoke signals
sashay toward the midnight stage in the sky.

As we dance around the fire
orange embers laugh crackling
illuminating the dark midnight
all are thankful for brief moments
of smoke blanket warmth on our backs
waiting to be tucked in by the glowing moon.

Too soon do we trapse back to reality
smashing glass bottles
to satisfy some primal urge
for ancient chaos screaming energy echoed
in caves and canyons years before the pyramids were even an idea.

the world over has many stands of trees
they are homes for birds and an assortment of other creatures
we need those trees as they are the lungs of the earth
plant one in your yard or in a public park
isn't it so nice to have a tree for shade
in the Borneo jungles there are many fine specimens
so too in Canada those beautiful maples
and a favorite tree in Australia is a gumtree
there are too many to list here
but please give the trees around you
a little thought to-day
for in this part of the world
it has been declared as Arbor day

Crusty *****
           scuttle through
                        the tide pools.

Fish dart among
                 undulating
                         sea-**** forests.

Salted breezes
             push waves
                       on to shore.

Seagulls
         surf the ocean
                           rhythm.

Tides rise and fall.
                 Waves roll in.
                               Peace abides.

In Springtime all the roses bloom
And sunshine dances on the path
And it's rays will dance in my room
While my cats take their warm sunbath

The breezes blow the deep-green leaves
And stir the honeysuckles sweet
That grow around the tall green trees
And bloom in the warm Spring sun's heat

Oh let the breeze caress my cheeks
And let it stir the lilacs sweet
And make the flowers waltz at my feet
That grow in meadows with wheat

Oh let me kiss the buds of May
And drink in their sweetest perfume
That sweetly dances in my room
Along with the sunshine of day

Winter teeth bite
deep and harsh.

Snow does fly,
and ice imprisons.

Chill the bones
to brittle ache.

Hibernation
has its season.

Branches spike
the low hung clouds.

Hunters hunger
on hidden trail.

Skittish prey plays
hide, don't die.

Life is sparse
during Winter's reign.
