I try to be optimistic
They tell me be realistic
I tell them that I am
This world is a sham

They accuse me of being lazy
I accuse them of being crazy
I live life for the day
You live life to make pay

Is it possible for me to be free?
While advancing in this society
When you must work hard to maintain
Yes, because reality is in my brain

While I must fulfill my duty
I also recognize life’s beauty
All the elements of nature around me
Love from friends and family who surround me

This way, at the end of the day
I can confidently say
That I am living life to the best
Even when I may seem stressed

This is the world we are given
It is ours to freely live in
Too many have lost sight of the true meaning
Simple life is at the essence of our being

You though your-self
very clever I reckon
when you
informed the police.

But you made a mistake
if you though I dident see you.

Now I known
you know me
and I see your little game,
and I mean to finish you
and send
your ears to your wife
if you show this to the police
or help them
if you do

I will finish you.

It no use your trying to get out of my way.

Because I have you
when you dont expect it
and I keep my word
as you soon see and
rip you up.

Yours truly

Jack the Ripper.

PS You see I know your address

Betrayed by good intentions
Stabbed and bled out by emotion
Rotting flesh of a useless heart
Better to turn away and be hopeful
Than open your eyes and feel pieces of you die
Swiss cheese analogies for gaping wounds
Continuity lacking
You aren't who you were
Yet you are who you are

Sometimes we grow apart

"On October 16th George Lusk, the president of the Whitechapel Vigilance Committee, received a three-inch-square cardboard box in his mail. Inside was half a human kidney preserved in wine, along with the following letter. Medical reports carried out by Dr. Openshaw found the kidney to be very similar to the one removed from Catherine Eddowes, though his findings were inconclusive either way. The letter read as follows:"

From hell.
Mr Lusk,
Sor
I send you half the Kidne

tother piece
I fried and ate
it was very nise.

Dear Boss,
I keep on hearing the police have caught me
but they wont fix me just yet.
I have laughed
when they look so clever and talk about being on the right track.

That joke about Leather Apron gave me real fits.

I am down on ******
and I shant quit
ripping them
till I do get buckled.

Grand work the last job was.
I gave the lady
no time to squeal.

How can they catch me now.

I love my work
and want to start again.

You will soon hear of me with
my funny little games.

I saved some of the proper red stuff
in a ginger beer bottle
over the last job
to write with
but it went thick
like glue
and
I cant use it.

Red ink is fit enough I hope
ha. ha.

The next job
I do
I shall clip
the ladys ears
off
and send to the police officers
just for jolly wouldn't you.

Keep this letter back
till I do a bit more work,
then give it out straight.

My knife's so nice and sharp
I want to get to work right away
if I get a chance.

Good Luck.

Yours truly

Jack the Ripper

Dont mind me giving the trade name

PS Wasnt good enough to post this before I got all the red ink off my hands curse it No luck yet. They say I'm a doctor now. ha ha

Reflections of self in others
Painfully, reality slaps
Realization of needed change
More patience, more patience,
MORE PATIENCE
The residue of stinging words remains
Making it hard to breathe
There is no escaping self-induced consequences

Gray clouds block the sun
Its rays struggle to shine through the cracks
Will the sun reign and blue skies prevail
Or will the black thunder bring lightning strikes
Time takes forever
And the rain begins to fall
The sun sets unnoticed

No beauty reflected in the rainbow sky
The moon now hidden by the storm
The night is black and chills the soul
Windburned cheeks hold tears
Though the wet is quickly dried
The salt lines remain

Remnants of sadness and lingering pain
For once the heartbreak is for others
To see their losing battle
To watch it play out from the sidelines
Helpless to change their path
Their journey is their own
Yet the heart is still broken
The laggard storm clouds slowly scatter
The moonlight shows through just before dawn
The sun unceremoniously begins to rise
a haibun

Empty places and missing friends
Time alone to contemplate being lonely
Reaching out to no one
Reaching out but no one is there
Reaching within the emptiness
Finding nothing but self
Self-loathing? at times
Self-obsessed? so it seems
Self-analytical? always
Self-conscious? about everything
Reaching out and still passed by
Take my hand and smile "hello"
Look in my direction and make me feel...real
