Because of your faithfulness

I am able to stand
On the promise of you
Not the wisdom of man

Because of your faithfulness

I can see past the pain
Of what this world has to offer
As I fall on your name

Because of your faithfulness

What tomorrow may bring
Will not weigh me down
It's your song I will sing

Because of your faithfulness

You pour out your love
On a people in need
Of the glory above

Because of your faithfulness

There is not a one
That can't come to the Father
In the name of the Son

Because of your faithfulness*

I will boldly proclaim
The power and glory
*Of your Holy name

Thank you for breaking me
And making me
A better me

Thank you for hurting me
And making me
A stronger me

Thank you for shooting me
And making me
Bulletproof

Thank you for burning me
And making me
Fireproof
This is an older poem. Things have changed since then. But this poem is highly relative to a lot of people and I liked it well enough so I posted it.

On a winter's path at
twilight flits a ghost in
thin repose
gossamer, the silhouette
flights cradling
a silken rose

Drifting through the auburn
forest autumn on her
cheeks replete
furnishing love's
silent solace
drifting with the
perished leaves

she seeks you still
she'll find you not

Here I am, looking up causes for headaches
at 1 am
when I know it will always come back to you.
My hands found the bottom of the ocean
as I cleaned old movie tickets out of my car today.
I can see your honesty from here.
It took my composure on its way out the door.
I’m not bitter anymore.
I’m just tired.
And I’m tired of being so tired.
I’m sorry you didn’t stay.
I’m sorry that I apologize
for all the times you didn’t.
I keep forgetting these things
are not one-sided,
and so,
I’m sorry I gave you everything
for nothing in return.
You tasted like love,
and I was parched.
Still am.
It's terrible, but it needed to make its way out

For tis god hath made
for humanity not to fade

a women in tis world to be
In storm a strong flowering tree

a mother for life to give
a lover for moments to live

a wife with love to share
a friend in times needed care

for tis a beauty of  a woman
Yet abused by life and men
A tribute to all the women on womens day

I stopped writing for awhile
For I had started to forget
Forget what it was like to
Be left alone again.

After you had left I was abandoned
With my own thoughts I had to write
A love as pure as you is something I cannot find over night.

And for some time I was there
Stuck in desperation for a little more
Left to try and repair my body
My life stuck in a repetitious bore.

But slowly I pulled myself out
Finding serenity through friends
Peace of mind came quickly, easier
I found that my thoughts of you came to an end.

I participated, I went out
I let others hold me as you once did
And slowly I found life less lonesome
To open up and be happy again.

But once more you came back knocking
With hopes to drag me in
And in my foolish glee, I accepted
And I went spiraling down again.

I got caught up in speaking with you
Then forgot that it would soon end
For when you got what you had wanted
I was left alone to fend.

I'm quick to jump to conclusions:
Maybe I could get you back again
Or I could always turn and find it easiest
To stay laughing with my friends.

But we both know that I won't choose the latter
I'm weak and foolish to try to crawl back
But that never matters
*For I'm addicted to your attention
And I slip down at your suspension.

Invisibility is a lonely place.
Quiet, peaceful, but empty.
There are others here, too.
But we're to afraid to speak.
for fear our voices will shatter glass of silence
that shields us from the rest of the world.
A desire rests deep in our hands
to strike the pane, color our knuckles with something
as real as blood and pain.
To see life in liquid form,
coursing down our pale skin,
grasp a hand from the other side
to be lost in deep words
with a like minded companion.
Traipsing down the deer trails of thought
while the leaves of dreams
fall at our feet.

I have never been
The apple of anyone's eye
Because I'm too prickly and bitter.
The object of affection
Because I am not shiny, nor do I
Sport bright and valuable colors.
Anybody's "one and only."
No,
I have been one of many
Used, abused, and stepped on
And now they wonder
Why I cannot handle commitment?
Well, I will tell you why.
If a guy cannot see past
The thick skin I wear
The bare face I show
How my hair is a little too frizzy
Is he worth the time and effort?
If he
Cheats on me
Tells me I'm worthless, ugly, nothing
Is obsessed with my
Location, activities, intentions
Why should I bother?
It seems that
Every time someone seems like
Maybe they care, maybe they are interested in me
It's a lie, a misconception, a scheme
So now, I guard my heart and mind
Keep myself closed, shut off, shutdown
But my body?
Oh, I'd give it away in an instant.
Sometimes, to get ahead in this society
You have to be their definition of a ****
In other words
Look like a lady
But act like a man.

The irony,
in simple posts from sea world,
"a whale and her baby,
showing you we care about the bond."
But if you "cared" at all about the bond,
you wouldn't restrict them
to small spaces and four walls,
you would never restrain them
into jail cells in comparison
to their size.
Do you ever wonder why animals rebel?
because the only concern
us humans have is for ourselves
and the most selfish thing
we do, is pretend to care.
Because if we cared,
those whales wouldn't rebel.
if we cared,
those monkey's wouldn't attack.
and if we cared,
we wouldn't spend hundreds
of thousands of dollars
to confine the things
we think we love.

if you love something,
you should let it go
right?
then why do we put
locks and chains
and cages around
the world's beauty
why do we enslave,
for our own personal enjoyment
the things we could just
hop in the car, drive to the land
and probably see ourselves?
this is not humane..

In a nation where we pride ourselves on freedom
all we do, is hold down the things we wish to save..
All we do, is silence the struggling.
All we do, is degrade the different.
So I'm asking, when are things going to change?
When will we stand up for a world
that we deserve to be in.
When will we make like monkeys and whales
and animals held down by circumstance
and bring down what's doing the same to us?

Do not turn a blind eye to the world around you
do not turn your back on things you think you can't control.
I know that the world you carry on your shoulders
weighs heavier on your conscious,
but it doesn't have to.

and it all starts with you..

Tall dark trees,
A barrier to the sky;
Holding me back from the stars.
There are so many
Millions upon millions
I would love to just float up to them
Up into the unknown
No one would be able to hurt you up there
No mistreat or abuse
No more pain.
The stars flicker their greeting to you
Come up here, darling,
We'll take away your worries.

Even though they're so different from you
It doesn't matter
They will accept you
And let you live among them
Let me take this last breath
*Ill be up there soon.
This is from a story I'm writing about a girl trying to fit in and figure herself out. She's kind of a no one who moves around a lot from her dads  traveling job.  She's about to give up, but something isn't quite right .

Mr. Putin's opportunity

Please Mr Putin,
don't put the boot in;
hold back your forces,
from bombing & shootin'.

We know Russia's powerful,
fearless and strong.
We're expecting violence,
now prove us all wrong.

You've shown us your muscles,
now show us your mind.
Show us your heart man
then you may find;

People will listen
and show you respect.
Not just the hate
and the fear you expect.

Now is the chance
to Russia's great.
The hour is yours.
Don't leave it too late!
