on the verge of wilderness
imminent silence*

welcome
the sun stroking
peaks aglow
the thundering falls
mist-kissed rain
the solitude
so rarely reached
too often breached

stillness loosen
untamed words
in the native tongue
before thoughts
unspoken
became yours
mine
ours

to the wild
bear these
cryptic symbols
scrawled on
my halved heart
tokens of longing
succor
for the lost

i'm beginning to forget
the sound of water on pebbles
the cry of a hyena in the dark
life and death juxtaposed
a chilling antithesis

i'm beginning to forget
the thrill of a loving touch
the pain of a stricken heart
harmony and rupture adjacent
a terrible paradox

i'm beginning to forget
the joy you stirred in me
the deep sadness you induced
serene days and chilly blasts
a reminder of bitter-sweet things
The Moon shines,
and it glows,
a loving light of warmth
through the darkness,
no matter how dark it may be,

just like
a pure soul
that glows as it shares
its inner beauty - its radiance
shines so brightly,
casting a shadow of security,
like that of the moonlight,
for all to embrace,
to feel,
and to see.

Quiet and cautious
Protecting the secrets
Close to her heart.
Slowly her defenses weaken
Tiptoeing through the forest
Of past desires and fallen trees.
The leaves rustle and she warms
To the approaching dawn.
As squirrels scurry in the trees
She awakens to natures embrace
And lets the water tumble
Over rocks and moss.
Laying in a bed of leaves
The walls have subsided
And the tones of a distant flute
Surround her and dissolve her slumber.

Then may we
Triangulate-

I here
           You there

And these odd
Angles

Give a third
Point

Four dimensional

Where collision
Becomes

(It becomes
Your lovely
Face)

Inevitable-

This the history
Unrecorded-
Unhappened

Happy union
Of opposites

Of the serpent
Swallowing
Tail
