I shall go there with my love

There’s a meadow in the distance
Golden grains upon the land
Such an effervescent morning
As we walk there hand in hand

In the trees the birds are singing
Sunny skies play up above
There’s a meadow in the distance
I shall go there with my love

There’s a river by a mountain
Waters blue and crystal clear
So refreshing is its beauty
O’ the sound we love to hear

Upon it glistens soft reflections
Of the bluest skies above
There’s a river by a mountain
I shall go there with my love

There are horses in the pasture
Frolicking this perfect day
So majestic in their stature
As they run the fields at play

In the air their manes are flowing
Cool the breezes from above
There are horses in the pasture
I shall go there with my love

There’s a garden filled with flowers
O’ the fragrance soft and pure
Perfect blossoms for the picking
Where we could not ask for more

All the colors of a rainbow
Streaming through the sky above
There’s a garden filled with flowers
I shall go there with my love

There’s a future that is waiting
Where the days are ever bright
And forever it is springtime
Every scene a perfect sight

Where the nights are heaven's answer
Neath the wondrous moon above
There’s a future that is waiting
I shall go there with my love

I loved you yesterday.
I love you today.
I will love you tomorrow.
And I will love you so much
That you will still feel the love
even after I depart...

Love will never grow old
Love will never fall sick
Love will never cry or die...
Even when I get too old
to remember how much I have loved you..
Even when I have gone too senile or too crazy
to utter the three magic words
I LOVE YOU... everyday for you...
My love will always be with you
Never too little but always more and more..

I wish you'd know that my love is always
as fresh as the morning dew...
as beautiful as the flowers and the nature around us
as large and as wide as the blue blue sky..

The day I die..
Don't you ever cry
My love for you will stay...
forever it will....

Black power!

I stopped hiding from my roots, I do not let my natural tightly coiled strands become chemically manipulated into bone straightness. I'm no longer hiding from my roots.
My natural hair will represent this

I went on an interview today for a position as a dental assistant, checked out the office on the website right after and then
oh no
The staff is all white, what if I don't get hired because of...

Black Power!

I stopped hiding from my roots; the sun is not my enemy. I no longer veil from its rays because the fear of getting "blacker." Look at that skin; love its rich deep melanin. Follow my movement; I'm no longer hiding from my roots.
My black skin will prove this

The other night I went out with a couple of new friends,
to be more precise they were homemade Alantians.
Born and raised in Atlanta!
It was a nice warm night, and at the end of it they wanted to take some pics to post up on their instagrams. But guys wait; let’s get into the light, I don’t want to appear all dark next to you light brights. You are all mixed which makes you effortlessly good lookin'
snap
Ugh I hate it I'm to black, don’t post that.

I stopped hiding from my roots, I rock my tightly coiled natural strands.
I'm not ashamed of who I am, Look at my skin and its deep rich melanin
Walking with my fist raised up in the air to represent what I on a daily contradict.

Black Power!

Forgive me, I'm new to this. When I was growing up the things that embodied our black nation was never accepted.

Black power! I'm ready to follow this radical movement.
By no means am I in favor of one race over another.  I consider myself more of a humanitarian if anything at all. My concern is geared towards ALL people. But when I was younger it wasn't that way. It was difficult to be okay with who I am. With my race in general, I wanted to be someone else, with different hair, skin complexion, body frame. Thankfully I've outgrown such thinking but completely removing something that has been embossed in your brain for years takes a little bit of time.

Clouds Of Grey Fill The Virginian Sky
Raindrops Pelt Upon The Roof
Thunder Rumbles--A Frightening Sound
A Slight Breeze Is Blowing Through The Trees
Their Green Leaves Nearly Touching The Sky
Yet I Am Content To Stay Inside
And Listen To The Sound Of The Thunderstorm
As It Gradually Passes By

Compared To Many Others

Do we ever really stop and think
Of how good a life we have
Compared to many others
It's really not that bad

We go to work and say things
Like how much we hate our jobs
Complain about the hours we work
Or the time we must get up

There are many others out there
Who begin a search each day
To try to find a job like ours
That comes with decent pay

Insurance is a big thing
We take for granted till there's a need
While those without a job at all
A doctor they wont see

We eat our dinners every night
Pay our bills and go to sleep
No worries for the ones outside
Who are living in the streets

So today I will just stop and think
Of this good life that I have
Compared to many others
Its really not that bad

This was written on a challenge I gave to Mike,  on how we see a typical day.  I have already made my concession call as Mike has already posted his master poem to stop any future challenges that other poets may have...LOL. Yep I may not have won this battle but I have just inlisted all other poets to challenge you Mike..lol.   I will win the war and wear you down my friend and one day I will take the crown..This is my master plan.. crap.....I have given my master plan away. crap.

Sometimes Something Happens

Sometimes something happens
That makes you stop and think
Is this the life I planned on
Or is it just the life I need

Is this life I live a good one
Have I done enough to help
In the end when I look back
Will I be happy with myself

Sometimes something happens
Makes you take that one step back
It reminds you of what matters
Or the good life that you have

It gives a new perspective
Shows a different point of view
Creates a feeling deep inside
That somehow changes you

Sometimes something happens
That makes you change your mind
Allows for new beginnings
Let's you leave your past behind

Well today that something happened
That did all the things above
It gave me what I needed most
A new chance to fall in love

Sometimes something happens

I start out as a small seed, pushed deeply underground,
then I am a sprout, small and happy.

I grow leaves and am bright and happy,
I have a head, small and green.

Then....
I burst through the green and reach for the sun!

The sun is beautiful, and I am a sun too,
But I am waiting for the moon. It is beautiful also.

I become the sun of the night,
And the second sun of the day.

I keep growing, and it becomes hard to look at the sun,
my head heavy with pedals, and seeds of my own.

Staring at the ground that I came from, and I drop my seeds.
And I start again, as a small seed, pushed deeply underground.

She brushes her hair
for the countless times
Looking out at the window
for every five minutes
Checking the dining table
for every now and then...
Everything needs perfection
For her lover is in town..

She glances again
at her own reflection in the mirror
Still pretty, perfect slim body
Exquisite... she smiled to herself..

Restless...She sat on her bed...
If only her bed could talk...
She thought for a second..
She couldn't remember
how many times
she has surrendered herself there
Her body... Her soul..
She has lost counts
How many times too
She cried herself to sleep...
When her lover left again...

If only her pillow could speak...
Perhaps it would say repeatedly
Don't you have regrets..
A lover's game is to wait...

To warm this cold and cruel bed...
Just for a while till your heart breaks
I witness the days that you weep

And the lover learns to patiently wait
though waiting hurts and kills
died several times and made alive again

sometimes she has no heart, frozen
sometimes she is really hot, burning
sometimes she doesn't even know herself
or what she has been doing...
She has gone too far
too deep
She cannot run from this
forbidden relationship...
There is no turning back...
Trapped in a golden cage..
She has lost her soul...

Is this the price she has to pay
To be somebody's secretlover?

Garden of beauty
Is where you lay
Trapped on the outside
Is where I stay

Your heart full of roses
And your soul of tulips too
Your eyes the diamond river
A glorious beauty is true

My heart beats for two
But locked out i am from you
Untouchable serenity
Mind stirring insanity

I lay here expiring
Watching you through a glass window
To your garden of eden
I dream to go

I Saw Perfect

Today I looked in
And I saw a perfect face
A smile that lit up the room
When others looked your way

There was this calm about you
As you looked around the room
Knowing just what you want
And who is right for you

You looked my way and smiled
And I wondered who you saw
Not realizing it was me
That you searched for all along

I felt this calming peace within
As your eyes peirced my soul
I saw the inner beauty
That I knew was there to hold

That perfect person in the room
Was there for all to see
For that perfect face that I saw
Was in a mirror in front of me

This poem is about finding yourself first. Seeing yourself differently and knowing that the way you see yourself, so will others. Believe that what you have to offer is what others want and others will want what you have to offer. (Wait I see a future poem in those last few words...lol)
