What is a photograph worth
With its edges bent and worn
Faded and yellowed with age
A picture that is cracked and worn

An image of a moment so dear
A smile in a second of time
The comfort of a loved ones face
That you shall never more find

Is the face upon your photograph
Worth more than all earthly gain
An image of one you loved so dear
One who now in a grave is lain

What is this little squares value
To pay, what is the price
Is there an amount or profit
That for its value would suffice

Some might offer you gold
For an image your finger can touch
Would you even then refuse
And find no hope in such

Does the image your eyes now mirror
Hold more value than the earth could bring forth
Tha many stories and memories so dear
Tell me, what is a photograph worth

Often my thoughts turn to the Cross
The beautiful Cross of Calvary
Upon which my saviour bled and died
To give eternal life to me

It's wooden beams bear the scars
Of nails that pierced his hands
His precious feet were riven to
And from his side blood and water ran

The Cross has stood over two thousand years
And even today it stands
As a bridge from heavens door
Down to the heart of mortal man

O the precious blood stained tree
That old and rugged nail scarred Cross
I count it as a gift of grace
And all I am as loss

Luke 23:34
And Jesus said,
"Father forgive them
they know not
what they do."

Thank you Lord.

echo
..
the difference between
worthless and priceless
is knowing
you are
free

..
freedom comes
from Holy love
All seekers find
& every heart
is satisfied

Christmas Workers, To Place Your Mind Ease

There are some who work on Christmas
Protecting those in need
To give the gift of comfort
And place your mind at ease

Policemen who patrol the streets
Responding to your calls
Fire and Medics always there
Helping one and all

The nurse who gives out comfort
Who tries so hard to heal
A doctor there to fix whats wrong
To ask you how you feel

The dispatcber who is ready
To send whats needed most
The soldiers standing straight and strong
To honor at all costs

There are some who work on Christmas
Protecting those in need
To give a gift of comfort
And place your mind as ease

Poem by: Carl Joseph Roberts (Joe)

Take a moment to thank a Christmas worker
As I work on Christmas day and volunteered to do it...lol. Why, why, why after 25 years do I volunteer to work this day..... It has become a tradition I guess.

IF
If there were no GOD
If there were no creation
If there were no Christ
If there were no cross of Calvary
If there were no tomb
If there were no resurrection
If there were no forgiveness
If there were no promise
If there were no eternity
If there were no heaven
If there were no hell
If there were no hope
If there were no Bible
If there were no truth
If man did not have a soul
Then,
There would be no reason.

He was born in a stable humble and lowly, though he was the one most holy
He was the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, crown and jewels did not embrace his head, instead he was lain in a manger where animals were fed
Yet at his birth the Angels did sing and the shepherds came to worship him
A star was put in the sky as a sign to draw us nigh unto him
The savior was born, Jesus Christ the Lord, so let us come to the manger and realize what he's done for
   you and me
He's the holy one born to set us free, come one come all, rich or poor he loves us all
He wants to give us Joy, peace and love, let us draw nigh unto him and let him draw nigh unto us
Let us open our hearts and receive the Christ child and let his love be born anew in our hearts
I dedicate this poem to some of my friends on here especially, Marian, Hilda,Timothy,Elizabeth and Mike
I wish you a very Merry Christmas. I hope everyone on here has a great Holiday season. I know some of you will like the poem and some may not, thanks for reading the poem.

Sometimes Something Happens

Sometimes something happens
That makes you stop and think
Is this the life I planned on
Or is it just the life I need

Is this life I live a good one
Have I done enough to help
In the end when I look back
Will I be happy with myself

Sometimes something happens
Makes you take that one step back
It reminds you of what matters
Or the good life that you have

It gives a new perspective
Shows a different point of view
Creates a feeling deep inside
That somehow changes you

Sometimes something happens
That makes you change your mind
Allows for new beginnings
Let's you leave your past behind

Well today that something happened
That did all the things above
It gave me what I needed most
A new chance to fall in love

Sometimes something happens

Christmas Has A Meaning

Christmas has a meaning
That we must not forget to see
For a gift of love called Jesus
Was born for you and me

On a night so filled with darkness
A star did shine so bright
To guide the way for all to see
The savior born that night

The King of Kings they would proclaim
Kneeling faithful by his side
In the manger lay the son of God
The Messiah had arrived

The glory of this childs birth
We celebrate in many lands
He unites the world with love and hope
Peace on earth good will to man

Christmas has a meaning
We must not forget to see
For a gift of love called Jesus
Was born for you and me

I Know My Heart Is Healed

I know my heart is healed
I no longer hurt each day
I remember all the pain once felt
Now that pain seems far away

I can look back on the memory
Of a love that was once true
Knowing that I tried my best
And thats all that I could do

I will not say those words of hate
When someone asks of you
Instead I'll say that I once loved
If only for a few

I know my heart is healed
I no longer dream of you
Instead my dreams are filled with hope
The hope of finding someone new

I know my heart is healed

A Forever Love That Grows

The day you first came in  my life
I became that someone new
You showed an inner beauty
And a love that was so true

Now  a part of me forever
Inside my inner soul
You touched my heart with kindness
And made my life more whole

From that time when first our eyes did meet
And I know forevermore
I will feel the same inside my heart
As that day when you were born

You came into the world so pure
And changed me, this I know
You gave to me a forever love
A forever love that grows
Parents will understand this. The love for a child never stops growing no matter the age and It truly is a forever love.

Of a special time or place
The memory of a long lost love
Or the smile upon a face

Thankful

Thankful for this life I live
And for my God above
Thankful for this time I have
To share with those I love

Thankful that I have my health
And the wealth that I may need
Thankful that I have a job
And loved ones next to me

Thankful for the friends I've made
Who stand faithful by my side
Thankful for the lessons learned
That now guide me through my life

Thankful that I have a house
A place that I call home
Thankful for my family
And the love felt from my son

Thankful for this land I love
And for those who fight for me
Thankful for all who gave their life
For this land that we call free

Thankful for this life I live
And for my God above
Thankful for this time I have
To share with those I love

Thankful

My mind cannot comprehend
The quickness of the speed
Of time as it passes
As more of time we need

The sun rises up each morning
And a day anew begins
Then the sun will set
And the day anew, it ends

The morning came so silent
As a promise new and stark
Then silently disappeared
Into the black of dark

Another day to quickly gone
Now the days have turned to years
With more behind than ahead
And eyes now dimmed with tears
