We see what's in the light.
What cowers in pure sight.
We see behind the fog.
We can guess of what lies beneath the curtains,
Of the monsters beneath our beds,
And sleeping in our closets.
What hides within the storm?
We cannot see what we don't know.
We can't see what's lurking in the shadows.
We aren't afraid of the dark,
We're afraid of the unknown.
Don't turn the light off.

*Not tonight
He's my new chapter,
a new favorite song to memorize
Staring out into the stormy winter night

in one of those old-time diners

The jukebox tunes the only thing keeping me alive

I've been tripped and trampled on for far to long

this is the end of the line, a dead end

The song comes to an end, and the jukebox is silent

I'm out of change
The music dies with the jukebox

Go on and starve yourself if you think you're fat

(even though you're already a toothpick)

I've tried your methods to have a flat stomach.

(It didn't work)

If I'm going to starve myself and feel depressed

(feeling worthless and never good enough)

to get a flat stomach, to hell with that.

I'd rather be fat and with a smile

If I remember correctly,
I hesitated before saying yes.
I failed to get to know you.
I knew about you,
And I loved the idea of you,
But neglected to see the real you.
I dove in too soon and the water was shallow.
Hit my head on the bottom.
And didn't learn until it stopped hurting.
Although when I think back now,
The whole thing was a waste of time.

They're out there.
Don't give up.
Not today,
Maybe tomorrow?
Ten words...again, on accident!
I can hear your tears from here
I know you try to muffle the cries

But I can still hear them
no matter where I am in the world

*Why won't you let me help?
Is it because of pride or her?
