Vacant pleas for union fill the muffled ears of oafs and tickle these text boxes with futility.
How do I find the courage to write out loud?
To speak to people,
without prompting?
To laugh and cry legibly,
once I know a lover's
listening?
That's all there is.

Empty bottles. Cigarette butts.
Invisible stains of passion
And the scent of you
all over my body
to remind me
Of one night-
and that's all there is.

Pink and blue
laced with memories of you
coming full circle
to where we were
but everything is so
Different from what I remember.
Warm earth turns to cold, gunmetal steel
the boy I once knew
Is a new man
that I'm trying to know again.
that boy on the shore
has grown up.

And I guess I've been
chasing memories all this time
and this would be the last time
I would bleed for them.

It really takes losing everything
you've ever wanted
to be finally free.

Soreness in my limbs.
That's all there is.
fleeting as it is, a memory
waiting to be wrought anew.
It is enough for now.
And maybe enough for the nights to come.
One night was all there was.
One night that is only,
truly ours.
When you fall in love
The World is an open book
A sky filled with white doves
Beauty in everywhere you look

When you see her crying
There is pain deep inside
As if your heart is dying
It strips away at your pride

When she kisses you
On the clouds you walk
Feelings touch so true
Finding voices to talk

This is a feeing of hope
Deep down in your being
For each day you can cope
The gift of the feeling .....

.....To love

Tallulah
Rain kisses the pavement
Cigarette burnt fingertips
Your warmth is god sent
I taste the salt on your lips

Black umbrellas line the streets
Clam chowder and baguette air
Like a child tucked beneath crisp sheets
Adoration the only stitch I wear

Pacific Ocean’s salt
Rain soaked cheeks
Coy, loving, exalted
We could’ve survived like this for weeks
Three drunken kites,
swim up competing with each other,
evading the algae of cityscape,
to drink the wine setting sun spills.

Far away, a bird sings
a song of spring's sweet arrival
High trills, low moans
Is it yearning for love,
or desperate for renewal?
Suddenly, his fingers find mine through
green blades and slide
over the back of my hand
A quiet breath escapes my lips
as we sit on dewy grass
But I do not feel moistness
only a warm kindling
in the pit
of my stomach
"It's beautiful, isn't it?"
His amber eyes are glowing,
illuminated by the rays
of the afternoon sun
A cool wind brings the scent
of leaves
and all else that is spring
Brings his arms like a blanket
rubbing away goosebumps
spread on my skin
And somehow the sun
warms my spine enough
to seep in me
a morsel of courage
a slight turn of the face
a nervous murmur
And then I can taste
spring on his lips.
A simple stretch made uneasy with nerves at your back screaming
Silently at the window frame, your fingers splayed
Against a heart held bleeding
bandaged, don't remember offering
up this battered vessel in a covenant of beating
words against frozen ribs that lack understanding
of what's being asked
through lips not moving and eyes unblinking
A reflection of yourself through the glass
unflinching
with fingers splayed next to the door frame

Reality is a breath against the aperture of decisions
The room seemed lonely
The room seemed bare
I knew you sat beside me
That look
That laugh
That stare

But now the seats gone cold
As my hand touches
Your not there
Yet I know
You are right by me
I miss you
And I fear

My memories start to fade
From a pictures haze
Your mark is burning out
All worn
A started doubt

No one else remembers
Your kindness
And your love
No one else remembers
The good you did
For good
People are not your puppets,
Your puppets for play.
They won't sing,
Sing your pains away

I'm no vantrilaquist dummy
For you to play with, honey.
I'm not a pawn in your game
For you to manipulate with no shame

Don't want to be a part
Of your devious plan.
Don't want to deny myself
Of who I am.

There's a reason it is called,
Called a deadly sin.
Infidelity will ******,
****** from deep within:

**** the ones you love,
The one you once loved--
The one you're still loving
Will always question your love,
Thinking she'll be the next loved

Just a part of your past
You'd rather forget
But that gangrene inside
Just won't let.

So keep playing hopscotch with the truth
I'll hang on tight to my virtue

Thinking of days past,
Quietly, he turns a page.
The ocean beckons.
