Humans
Are always fascinated
By beauty.
And yet
When we see the world’s beauty
We destroy it
In a greedy attempt
To take it for ourselves.
unnamed Feb 2020
My sadness does not
Make me empty.
Not even close

It fills me to the brim
With fiery anger
And painful frustration

From the fact that
I am the only one
Left in recluse

And nobody will take the time
To bother to tell me why

So no I’m not empty,
Far from it
I am determined
And I am bitter

One day you will recognize me
And until then

I don’t have the time to be empty

We may all be made of starstuff
But so are toilets
And dog ****
As well as radiation

Not quite so poetic now?
unnamed Feb 2020
We hurt ourselves
To distract our hearts

I'm not quite certain
if it's working anymore
unnamed Feb 2020
Boys like you
Are much more
Dangerous for
The heart
Than I had
Presumed
unnamed Feb 2020
The candle sputtered
The flame flaring up
Attempting to escape
From it's everlasting
Perch on the wick
Before it finally
Died out
