Humanity's Song
Arjun Mar 2020
Unbeknownst to humans,
There exists a song,
Where each human life is a note,
It began once we left the kiln,
And will end when we do.

Perhaps we all share the same chords,
Some may dwell as simple E chords,
While others may be minors,
Or perhaps everyone is unique,
A plethora of unheard chords,
For all we know, a B-sharp may exist too.

These chords fashion a song,
A son of chaos,
A song of harmony,
A song for no one,
A song for everyone.

I would like to hear them all,
My chord,
My purpose,
Our song,
Humanity's purpose.

This Forest
Arjun Aug 2019
Running through this forest,
Out of everywhere it has to be this forest,
Oh I hate this forest,
Prayers rise in my throat due to this forest,
Silhouettes of trees chase you in this forest,
Howls of various beasts are heard in this forest,
And my fears have built this forest.

I’m leaving my home.

My eyes refuse to well up with tears,
Yet it all seems blurry,
The most familiar sight in my life,
Is already fluttering away,
The two trees that greeted me every day,
Have already lost their leaves.

I’ve seen the bright red bricks turn dull,
The soil under my feet turn to concrete,
The toddlers around me turn to adults,
And I turn into who I am.

11 years have never felt so long,
11 years have never felt so short,
They house deep memories,
Yet, they lack something,
They await a proper farewell,
Yet at the same time, fear it too.
My farewell poem, thought I'd share it here
