can i tell you a secret?
some days, when the sky is its darkest hue
and the clouds are a light gray-blue
i write poetry.
it's all about you.

You
and I hope that every time
your mouth moves
to make the sound
of the first letter of her name

somewhere

deep down

in the back of your head

you hear my name instead

Much like the girl in the red hood,
I would set off to my grandmother’s,
On a voyage for solace,

And didn’t realize how many wolves were after me in the process.
I miss you, Gramma. Thank you for always being my safe place.

It’s interesting

how many men will obey a street sign,

but ignore a verbal plea

from a woman.

i can't let you go,

you're more home than a ***** room.

i stomach you more than my fears,

feeling like my friends are still here,

but when i wake, they don't reappear.

you're my anxiety in the morning,

and my depression at night,

you're my hero when it's too late.

I love you,

even though you're just a thing.

but you took all i loved,

then you made it okay.

Tired of being used
For parts to fill
Yourself with
Use up until
You feel whole
Taking pieces of me
Taking pieces of me
Empty
Every time you leave me
