It's dark
the smell of gas and wild flowers covering the nights natural musk.
Watch carefully,  things don't appear as they seem.
That silence you hear will be chased away by sirens,
That loneliness you feel, will be hugged by a corrupted soul.
Getting home in one piece is the goal.
Children up past their bedtime.
Not getting enough sleep after almost seeing mommy die.
The candy in their mouths just a security blanket covering feelings they haven't embraced.
Police out like guardian angels... devils in disguise.
This is what I hear in the silence of the city..
This is what I see in her pale glow of light...
Almost home, just took the last right..
Speed past a gang of insecurities... they screech hatred
The light at the end of my street flickering at my presence..
Almost as if waiting for me to be safe before she went out into her slumber.
Finally getting to my destination...
The lights on.. A warm welcome..
A smile... The laughs...
Everythings fine... or is it?
Not everything is as it seems.
Ignorance is bliss, as my sister in law put it
in that case I suppose you could compare its bliss to
high school
It's not what it used to be
You don't go to learn
You go to pass
It's not about the knowledge
It's about the grade
It used to be if you gave respect
You got respect
Now,
Im not sure any child of this generation understands the simple transaction
But in better words
They demand what they don't give
And take what they don't have
Ignorance is bliss
Sister Dear I'll take your word for it
Sister Dear you've touched my heart
Sister Dear you've been torn apart
Piece by piece
Your rips glued by tears
It seems I've known you through my struggling years
Hold your youth with young ones that follow
They call you mama
Sometimes with curiosity,  other times with excitement
Like an angel you've touched my crippled spirit
With horns of agony
Yet with the smile of forgiveness
Sister Dear oh how you have touched my heart
Sister Dear I see your pain
Sister Dear I'll take your hand
For you have done so much more
Yet you take little credit
Sister Dear hold your head high
Sister Dear Please don't cry..
For my sister in law Beth, she has touched my heart in more ways then I can count, its the little things that mean so much because all it takes is her smile her laugh her advice and forgiveness,  Sister Dear
You nag her
You use her
What will happen when she's gone....

She enjoys the art of death
Blood and guts wrap around her like a silhouette

Her sweet smile hides a sharp tongue
Her small heart conceals a ravenous beast

Watch all you want
She'll stare back
Her curiosity sparked
She's waiting for her next attack

Careful that you mind her
But don't get to close
Just because she's nice
It doesn't mean she loves you the most

With your blood dripping from her nails and your flesh hanging out of her mouth..

I told you to mind your words...
Because once you go in you're gonna have to crawl your way out...
The truth isn't always good
Nor is a lie always bad
You can't waste the time you never had

He tells her the lies out of love
She sees the truth with pain
She always loses
And he takes all the same
Her heart a pawn In his chess game of sorrow
He promised her no pain but only a smile for tomorrow
She wakes only to the sound of her own breathing
He is no where to be seen
She can finally smile
It was all a dream...
I  sit and watch
day by day
You talk
I listen
you argue
I reason
You live your life blind
Yet I see the hell as it lay itslef out
You play the game with instruction
I can't help but to break the rules
You judge me because im different
I hate you because you're the same
All you know is ignorance because of its bitter sweet lustful taste
Try taking a sour dark yet refreshing shot of reality
You run
I walk
You think you know it all
Just wait until you get that wake up call

You sit
I stand
You reach for my hand
You beg
I neglect
Im ten steps forward
And you're ten steps back...
He grabbed my hand, and stared into my eyes,
For the first time all of this felt real,
No words were traded,
Only curious stares,
Could it be?
Was he ment for me?
It was his smile,
So inviting,
His eyes flickering,
With the promises of eternal truth
My heart fluttered and beat to a different song,
This was not my heart, this feeling didnt belong
How could something so new,
Feel as though you've shared it for years,
Before the end,
Hand in Hand
Both had crossed into Wonderland...
