ghost
Papers holding memories
                tucked in the corner
        of yesterday
became an
                    origami daydream
          too weak to fly

Here, take this pen
                and write your name
Now take the pen
            and sign your life away

Didn't they tell you
this dotted line is a noose
hanging
            from a weeping willow?

Slap the face of a clock
                              and it slows
Steal its hands
                and it sleeps forever.

Reunite, in an embrace,
Sleek black and white keys and fingertips of lace,

Dance away!
Until the frothy winds weep,
Until my curious eyes wane,

Weave those strings of emotion
into a muslin-mist melody.

Intoxicate this mellow dream
with coffee rhythm and cinnamon notes

Let your song inspire me again
as it hushes to pianissimo
and dissolves into the summer shadows.

"encore!"
Sometimes, music is all that makes sense.

faust
in summer sunsets I find the glowing
embers of your eyes
as if the poets and painters
gazed upon your irises in reference

the art sat for centuries before your date of birth
as if some prophecy
that roses could be pale as ice
with scathing tones and imbruing eyes to my forested mind

some people think “i just write”,
trust me,
i do,
but they don’t know that there’s so much story
veracity,
sincerity,
heartbreaks,
landslides,
sacrifices,
courage,
in between words,
in this world,
it takes me to pour everything,
in what “i just write”.
sometimes, its best to let the words introduce themselves.
