A storm rages, tearing at it's own throat
it's teeth gnash at the ground
biting chunks
spitting out pounds of flesh
while ungodly sounds fill the air..
like rusted metal tearing flesh from bone
the storm bellows
angry.. belligerent
while bare feet with tiny toes hold fast
as she holds her sanity aloft
her fingers grip tight and she will not let go
The winds thrash, lashing it's whips
striking.. deep welts that will forever scar
but aloft it is held, with tiny fingers
her dignity.. with all her might
Steadfast
Unwavering
The mountains earth moves
and the land slides, taking all trees and rocks in it's path
stripping acres from fields
leaving behind the complete devastation
and she remains
her eyes open
penetrating every living thing
seeing as deep as marrow
The storm, a mile wide
takes the earth and chews
devouring
clawing
at
the
child
but the words on her lips are silent
and yet they are bearing fruit
and the clouds drift from judgement
as she knows the sun will win through
The storm wants to be a hurricane
with no eye to see
a colossus... a blind beast
and the finger of it's god
points at the child and screams it's name
quietly the child sings of truth, sings of love
sings of hope
it's sound is heard in both the past and the future
This one is no match for the child who has love
as she possesses the sky
she owns the sun
she has lightenning in her eyes
and stands as tall as the heavens
indeed she is only five feet of thunder
and love is all the armour she needs.
I love the saying "Don't tell your God how big the storm is.
Tell the storm how big your God is"
Love and truth and peace is what you need to hold fast to, no matter the storm.
