Some
Bleed blue
a bitter cold
river that drifts along ever slowly
Ever peaceful
Filled with thousands of perfect downy pebbles
each the exact shape and size
as the last
it trickles down all of the hills and mountains
to lower ground

Iced and frigid
It comes from the heart
to the vein and artery
to the lung
around the stomach and intestines
up the spine
down the spine

to the wound.

They watch the moon
Pitch
Ravens in the night
singing to death
soft sweet mournful songs
Blood and guts
wash down the streets
in sloppy waves of crimson red
Three little ravens singing
*"Every little thing is going to be all right."

You and I
Me and you
we all keep going
living our lives
believing everyone in the world are
like night and day
but believing this
I do suppose
makes us
same.

A smattering of stars
     Strewn across the sky
Little pinpricks of light
Blinking in the soft night air

Planets and Moons
     Suns and Stars
Constellations and Galaxies
     Clustering together
Against the darkness between them

Light from far-off worlds
     Light visible to us
          Light visible to each other
Light the language of the universe
Light the conversation in the multiverse

And yet we stand here
Human Beings on this our planet Earth
Contemplating in the soft night air

Feeling large and powerful and in charge
Our hand is larger than those pinpricks of light
We hold up our hands and block out the light
     And darkness swallows the night

Feeling small and insignificant and adrift
We are programmed to seek the light
And in this seeking we come ever closer
     To understanding the true nature
Of the conversation of the multiverse

I made her in the mornings
A *** of tea for two.
I loved her twice at lunchtimes
Oh how everything grew.
I left her in the evenings
To find her something new.
I kissed her in the twilight
She walked me in the dew.
In our world of pavements our fictions of mind
There are others around us who've left us behind
We have transient memory, blinkered and blind
Out of touch with reality - other earth kinds
Brother bear, brother bee, sister fox, sister bird
All cry to us constantly silent unheard
We're tight as a spring that needs to unwind

Our sweet images play and the transient pass
We see only reflections of things in the glass
Futures appear fleeting shadows surpass
The feel of bare toes in the dampening grass
Caught in the net we see through the holes
Creators of moment the futures untold
Unprepared and unmoving and caught off the path
