They asked him,
"How does one become a poet?"

He answered,
with the weight of stars in his voice:

"If you can read
the lines etched on your mother’s hands,
and the furrows folded between her eyes
then you are already a poet.

Go now
and savor the journey into madness."

What has my life become?
I want to know
why I'm afraid

was this choice
a mistake I made?

or was this brave
and necessary?

sometimes good things
can be scary

I don't know
where I am going

there is terror
in not knowing

all I know is
I am here

courage feels the same as fear

You are so precious—
like the tears I try to hide
when joy overflows
and my heart opens wide.

You are so precious—
like a rainbow in the sky,
when the sun breaks through
and the storm says goodbye.

You are so precious—
like sunshine’s gentle rays
warming frozen hearts
on cold winter days.

You are so precious—
like the tender gaze we share,
when words fall away
but our eyes still care.

You are so precious—
like the laughter of a child,
pure and bright,
glowing with a light so wild.

You are so precious—
like a kiss upon the brow,
where souls softly meet
and time forgets to bow.

You are so precious—
like the breath I take each day,
quiet, unseen,
yet keeping life in play.

One seagull on the wind
one song to share
one wave to ride
one fish to catch
one egg to lay
one chick to feed
one life to live.
one seagull on the wind.

And maybe,just maybe
If I keep pretending
Long enough
Happiness might forget
It was never mine
And decide to stay.

And if it doesn't
Atleast the light I borrowed
Kept me warm
For one more day.

Sadness speaks in lullabies
No one wants to hear
In tears that fall
Without permission
In the ache that says
"You are not okay"
Bt you will be,someday.
I want to go back in time
I want you to be mine
& me to be only ever always yours
I want yours & mine to be ours
I want what cannot be
an alternate reality
as my now & my future
I want you to be in my life

little lottie could never speak her mind
it was always encrypted
it was always in code
and the cypher? i could never find

me and little lottie once played in the street
and all at once
my world turned around
and the world was filled with no sound

but my ears were filled with little lottie’s voice
and unfortunately it was uncrypted

i had no choice
