What's wrong? They ask.
Like memories floating from a distant past,
Her frail frame shattered like she was made from glass,
"My feelings are sad"

She would answer.

Disdain spread from her face
A smile replaced with a frown,
She was his "queen" but his control
Was her merciless crown.

"I should leave"

She would utter, in front of her mirror
Where she would shudder
As she muttered a morning routine
Of toothpaste, blood splatter and forgotten dreams.

"No I'll stay"

Were words used to confuse
The biggest lie,her happiness, worn as
her darkest bruise.
If the snake bit the Apple
She was the defenseless fruit.

"So I'll die"

No questions pondered as to why.
It was the path of least consequence
For a life wasted and spent
With her soul on loan, heart paying the rent.

"Click click, boom"

Gun cocked,
trigger squeezed.
Body rolled.
Existence seized.

And know her soul will not be resting in peace.
