ordinary (for Stef)
Asher close Aug 2014
Your the first and last thing I see
Early mornings and sleepless nights.

My thoughts of you waver between something more and nothing more,
but I know my boundaries.

In an alternate universe where everything was finally right it would still be wrong.
Nothing is right if you're not there.

Your mind is filled with secrets of mine
Ones that I would wish no one to hear
Except you.

I know what you think of yourself
How you feel
it nowhere matches the picture I have of you in my mind

And in the end my ramblings may not make sense on paper
but I hope you know in my ordinary teenage life
You are anything but ordinary.

Dancing in the moonlight

with you i wish to stay
through the rest of time
i want to watch years pass until the day
you
and i
fade into nothingness
our souls will recede into the stars
where they came from
and our atoms will disperse into nature
giving the breath of life
to the animals we once both admired
and rationally we will no longer exist in any form
but to me we will exist in every form
together

"keep it"
Asher close Aug 2014
the last string of words I would ever hear from you

a solemn sunday night
4 am
tears threatened
papers slipped from my lap

i think it was raining
maybe it was me
a shallow tapping lulled
emotions continued
then silence

everything was numb
my body
my thoughts
my being
numb

the clock ran backwards
times changed
stories rewritten
to you it was nothing
to me it was everything
why did i ever listen to you

I havent forgotten yet
Asher close Aug 2014
You forget the feel of their skin
The smell of their clothes
The warmth of their breath
You look at a picture
and there is no recognition
You dig in your mind
To find them
But they’re not there
You try to find a memory
But it’s faded out of view
Life has taken your feelings
Your thoughts
Your memories
It has a way
Of allowing you to forget
So you have room
To heal
