The house is now silent,
as if always it was this calm -
all asleep, all tidily done -
and in a thoughtful gesture
she reaches for the quilt,
grabbling for the needle minder.

In her mind, a coloured trickle
of threads draws upon the
inlaid tree branch - oh, the blossom
would happen before us,
would we look it trough her eyes
- as she picks a flaming orange
for the feather stich
and an ocean blue one
for a stich of satin feeling

and - there!, it starts showing,
the bird she nested for so long,
that bird bursting into songs
- now and forever catching your eye
here, molded by her hands.

It is so late, now.
Slowly, the unfinished quilt
is folded, threads and needle kept away.
The bird in esquisse flutters in her heart,
watching her stepping down
into the dark frown of the bedroom.

This is dedicated to all the women that found asylum - from an overwhelming daily routine of housekeeping - in the silent and lonely art crafting, and to all their handworks, forgotten, as useless, in the back of drawers and closets.

We are locked in this state of paralysed rage
for the powers that have come to be,
with their newspeak lies
and corporate ties,
they'll poison the sky and the sea.

Wherever you will go,
my mind will follow,
there's no shame in feeling weak,
when everything's looking so bleak.

Cop on the beat, we look to believe
that everything is in control.
No divisions of wealth,
your own mental health;
nothing is ever your fault.

Still, they come to say all this hard work will pay,
though your bedsheets are made out of lead,
so forget your disease,
get dirt on your knees,
and take this for your troubled little head.

Wherever you will go,
my mind will follow,
I have been writing these letters to say,
I hope everything's coming your way.

And it's all comin' down, like a surgical gown
replaced with a new lease of living.
Palestinian fields,
reinvented wheels,
and the churches won't lock their doors.

You see, the baby boomers, the white-men-in-suits,
they're a dying breed don't you know?
So keep saluting the sun,
the race isn't run;
I gave up worrying long ago.

Wherever you will go,
my mind will follow,
but if you're looking for a real kind of love,
stop looking to the skies above.

Wherever you will go,
you've got my heart in tow.
Now I'm sober,
all I can see
is the simplicity of you and me.

If only the whole world could be
as simple as you and me.

Others have tried to please me,
They failed, because, deep down
They were trying to please themselves.

You don't try.
You just do.

Before you, I fed on happiness scraps.
They tasted good
but I was starving,
I gobbled up and pleaded; give me more,
I tried to be deserving.

But you and I...We don't need to give, or take, or bargain,
Ever-friend, always-love,
We are happy just to hold each others hopes, and hearts, and secret dreams.
There are no conditions, no expectations
Our lives are both complex and impossible, simple and limitless.

I will pour myself into you, fill the aching places of need
You will never, ever let me beg, or cringe, or weep, or plead.
