The rain falls slowly,
Tap tap tapping against my window.
A mug of coffee in my hand,
A warm fire to sit by,
A book held in my other,
Lee Maracle, I think.
A blanket draped around my shoulders,
My dog napping nearby.
Contentment,
Peace,
Feelings I haven't felt before,
Slowly swirl inside me.

Tired, but not sleepy,
Totally relaxed,
I move into the kitchen,
My book and coffee still in hand.
I stare out the window,
As the rain makes the whole world more vibrant.
The grass and trees are greener,
The blooming flowers pinker,
Calm, content,
A sigh escapes my lips.
Today is a good day.
Feeling better.

Sun on my skin,
A laugh on my lips.
Lounging in the grass,
Overhead, clouds pass.
Sipping lemonade,
Straying from the shade.
Swapping stories
as the river dances over our feet
and fish swim lazily away.
Languid kisses,
Soft hands in hair,
Summer coming in the air.
Shy smiles,
Silly dances,
And photos to capture these memories.
Love like no other,
As laughter spills over,
Brightening every aspect of life.
The sky is more vibrant,
I see the earth in HD.
Sun on my skin,
A laugh on my lips.

Please proceed.
But a warning-
Do proceed with care.
It takes a lot of courage to put one's self out there,
Out onto the open air,
Do not discourage,
do not hate,
What one art means to one person
Is not all around the same.
Something you despise
could be another's solace,
So I plead with you:
Criticize all you please,
But keep your slanders
tucked in a far corner in your mind
To later be thrown out
With the other thoughts unkind.
This writing is simple,
That much I know,
Just take a deep breath and

Let the negativity go.
