I wish there was a way to maybe turn things around,
Maybe we can react differently to things,
Instead of lashing outnand fighting, fussing, and cursing,
We should try to fix this problem or our problems that we have together,
We have to fix them and come together as a group, now or never,
We should stop fighting and accept what things are and what they may be like for a while,
We have to do BETTER as people, as ourselves, as people of different race,
Because we don’t want no one talking down on us,
We must do more that what’s right....

This morning it rained like hell,
In the hard pouring rain, I almost slipped and fell,
It was dark and wet outside,
In my house, I really couldn’t tell,
I had no umbrella, so you know I was *******,
The mud and the heavy rain I had to step foot through,
Me and little Maxine stood in the rain like too fools,
Until this lovely young lady offered for us to stand on her porch, under her roof unti the bus came,
Soon, the bus came and me and Maxine ran across the street to our own bus stop with our book bags over our heads,
Besides, Maxine didn’t have on a jacket
