electricity!

you harnessed me,
caged me, running inside copper wires
made me do your bidding
enslaved me as the bringer of energy

you caught me,
dragged me up from the depths
coal-black, the liquid gold of oil
light from the nuclear furnace in the sky
ever-changing, shifting tides

electricity!
i make light for you,
drive giant machines, power countless engines
i am the foundation on which your entire world is built-

but i can also ****.
you may have intentions, a task for me to do
i have intentions too.
yea i know what photovoltaic means but like it sounds nice so whatever. its vaguely based off serafina's song about the subtle knife in philip pullman's novel the subtle knife. lol also feels nice to have something named after me
again, i have no idea what im doing

It is
beginning.
Mouse on the C
Mouse on the keys
Photovoltaic benjamins
New cologne: Mars Musk
X marks the interstellar profit
Build-a-baby with CRISPR-Cas9
Mouse jumping playing "Für Elise"
Are words worthy of the afternoon?
Does the value offer gain an interest?
Nicholas coils are being insistent.
Mouse waving, saying, "see!
Will you follow me?"
Scampers toward
ignited rockets
I'll follow him
into the
gold
rush
New job, baby. Let's gooooooooooooo

From somwhere outside my bubble,
the mindless quacking of a mallard
has infiltrated my thoughts and ideas,
confusing and annoying.

The sun, blinding at it's zenith,
now fades into a vermilion pool,
mercurial silver water transformed,
photovoltaic cells failing in loss of light.

I too begin to fade, diminishing energy,
consumption of power during the day,
draining batteries, my thought light dimming,
the sun, passes the horizon, and darkness envelopes.

Unscrewing my light bulb and setting aside,
preparing for a rest. and shedding thoughts,
much like the fall trees losing leaves one at a time,
I close my eyes and dream, of a duck and a lake

Photovoltaic in the rain
Drunk from the midday sun
Now barely able to light a candle
Let alone save the world
