A few nights ago I dreamt of you
and woke up soaked in sweat
The confusion of dream and reality
haunted every pore of my body
I questioned why you appeared
in a place I thought I knew so well
My sheets no longer hugged my mattress
My covers were tousled and knotted,
a metaphor for how my life used to be
*One huge mess
I explored my mind and didn't like what I found
