You were the reason for romantic fantasies

You were the reason for warm and comforting hugs

You were the reason for constant daydreams

You were the reason for soft kisses and love

You were the reason for kindness

The reason why I became blind to the *******

And accepted the less

When I knew I wanted more

You wanted to kick it with homies

While I grew lonely and unhappy

Couldn’t fathom you were the reason for it all

You were the reason for my confusion

You were the reason for my second-guessing

I grew tired of wondering

I grew tired of all the questions

You were the reason for the mind games

You were the reason for why I changed

Into somebody I didn’t even know

You were the reason for a broken heart

You didn’t even take responsibility

Were you even in love?

Or did you grow tired of what was us?

You were the reason for insecurity

The reason for why I let go of me

Nobody came to save me

I was stuck becoming my own hero

You were the reason for heartache

Sorrow

And an unrecognizable face

You are the reason why I never settle

You are the reason why I formed better taste

Thank you
