southern breeze blows
me back, youthful memories,
Innocent times,
winds threaded with wild childhood
dreaming on clouds passing by

old mossy oak way
faithful refuge, tinned roof taps
herons on the stalk

Ripped and stained white chucky tees
The pain of waves crushing under heavy seas
the  backseat of my rebuilt chevy 73
The sweaty palms of that first slow dance
The heart crushing felt broken summer romance
Cheers when coming in first place
Waving to your girl touching home base
Cool sweet tea swinging on the dock
Home cookin from great grannies crock
Tomato pie and my head in the sky
To dreamy days and lost loves past
those are the spirits of my youth that last

Yellow green pollen
Swarming  the butterfly
She brushed them onward
To there final resting place

New life put on pause
Crows been silent stalkers, not
carnival barkers
All critters take care, sensing
deaths desperate last culling

Majestic parade
Tufted white wings dance atop
Newly frosted peaks

Walking hand slips in hand
Like a foot in that old canvas ked
Spring and it's thoughts of summer

Before the leaves come
Winds chime on hollow dead limbs
winter leaves as summer yawns

Swollen spring stream
Mountain peaks sweating the heat
I stop to cool my feet

Water slaps at rocks
Keeping a dreamy back beat
As I drifted into a nap

Galloping down the beach
Crashing waves startles me awake
It’s  Chance the pup chasing a wind blown leaf

Stuck staring again
star watching, angel gazing
your eyes hypnotize

Angel dropped her sash
Pink, floating , engines roaring
The day, just starting

Troubled mountain tops
Showed me the future before
The room turned chilly

What woeful look I see?
Mapping trouble, all is bare
Ease them onto me, friend

All the boys in plume
Strutting up and down main street
the girls just giggle

the air snapped coldly
barking out crisp harsh orders
forgetting my coat

wild hearted summer
sun, blazing down, waving heat
skinny dipping time

getting fit eating
breakfast, lunch, even dinner
jumping apple jacks

morning cup brewing
popping bacon in mom's pan
golden grits stewing
flipping through dad's Sunday rag
saying grace for all I've had

Heard church bells today
echo was hurling  me back
To when people actually heard
Beautiful church bells ringing
On a Sunday in the park and
Waiting for the echo to hurl them back
To a simpler Sunday in the park

I pray for them all
The good,the bad, the ugly too
Friends and enemies
Lenient  hearts demand it so
Forgiveness will set you free

saffron scented scenes
crimson rays of an exotic sun
cast off to warmer ports of call

How easy you spread pain
Mindlessly sharing your misery
The sun shelters me

backwater eddy
fast moving, sanctuary
what's deep, on bottom?

Your presence paused my
dream, hunting, seeking the light
that guided me here
searching for someone, something

Lethal game life and death
The players pause to catch their breath
The winner is the fittest

White feathers entwined
The universal dance ensued
Spring is love just new

sweet, sour smells
under the covers, we breath
life's pungent secret
enticing, tasting the air
sampling our confections
