Sometimes late at night
when the kids have gone to bed
as the nightly fire turns to burnt embers
I put down my bible
glance out my frosted window
to the snow covered peaks painted green
by the dancing lights above
and thank God

Majestic parade
Tufted white wings dance atop
Newly frosted peaks

I see the salt white streaks
Running down your cheeks

White glacier trails receding
To their high mountain retreating

From another failed attempt at healing
I guess withdrawing is more appealing

But when you wear your hurt on your cheek
It's hard to hide the healing you seek
