Drawing hearts in the sand
Using your toes not your hand

Gazing and watching nervously praying
Please Lord let it stay

Only to watch the wind and waves play
with heart shaped sand away

she rose from the rot
compost rooted day lily
decay born beauty

the air snapped coldly
barking out crisp harsh orders
forgetting my coat

the rainbow rises
from a rippled glacial pool
hoping hes hungry

it's been a tidal ebb and flow
moments of bliss then the lows follow
I long and pray for the lake days
the general ease of the lake malaise
something said for the lake life
less current and less strife
Now we are in the open ocean
rogue waves and that washer motion
better plot our course and to it we stick
slip into a safe harbor, with wounds to lick
The boats been rocking on this voyage
thank god we have each other in this turbulent age

J never have time
To catch up on moments lost
Where did it all go

I used to make you smile
Now I walk this dark path alone
Scared aimless wandering
Wondering where our happiness went
Now I smile seeing them
doing the same as me
Walking alone sad

miles apart outside
spirits intertwined within
always together

ills with everything
even with the suns slow rising
don't fret, that too, stops

we walk together
our love lighting the nights sky
no star burns brighter

bright alaska night
taking long evening hikes
midnight sun stays late

what's your heart saying
listen closely, it's true
your head will fool you

walked with a blind man
took the long way, fading sky
he showed me the light

Peace in a thousand notes
Heard as one,  struck as one
The single chord of the heart

inside flames blazing
from ancient embers guarded
divine knowledge fueled

Cool lone winter howl haunting power
Echoes off frozen ground, and frost bit limbs
The wind lifts her chilling scream  for all the others to hear
fear me,  
I come

Living in the dirt
Night crawlers, my closest companions
Yet even I found hope

remembered old times
found recessed, hid deep inside
springs newly found youth

deep blues rarely seen
every green deeper still
Alaskan august day

Dawn's early caress
Dawn's light reflects in her ever green pools
Dawn's golden rays fall about her face
Dawn's warm hug lulls away my stress
Dawn's the best part of my day

reaching up to you
ill tides dragging me under
angel on high ground

I saw you in her
for one split moment
just for that moment
It had been so long since
I remembered you again
I saw you again
I felt you again
I wanted you again
I loved you again and again and again
Just for a moment
and
then
you were gone

Winded to the top
Mist filled mountain, chilled
The burning jnside

easy reading minds
eyes among skies peer inside
those thoughtless abide

waters in the well
making sure, never runs dry
my tears replenish
