when the oil lamp is put away
beyond my frosted cabin glass
silence reminds me, throw the latch

waiting for the storm
to wash away these blue skies
these hot shots need rest

Did you see that star
it gave a nod, threw a wink
I wonder how far

life's a cheeseburger
all the really juicy stuff
happens in between

whispers with kisses
heating cool morning wishes
early sun rises

Poets cry the rising moon.
Yearning again for the suns high noon.
Dark night arrives too soon.

four toe heads all tan
launching lures and cannonballs
salts healing skinned shins

Contentment
In the arms contracting my breath
bating, waiting for the first of the morning light

They return in pairs
Great white gloves fluttering in
Nature’s horn section

new day
everything still
even this roaring mind
bodies perfectly intertwined
renewed

empty park benches
rusted swings sway in silence
no one merry ‘round

mindless imps
followed pipers south
now they burn

White feathers entwined
The universal dance ensued
Spring is love just new

Humpbacks launching while
Arching water with upward flows
a real Vegas strip show

lost in wonderment
how such miracles occur
to people like me

Reaching up then downward
Toward earth the angle oak arm
Extends a helping hand

Revolting and repulsive
words champagne sippers prefer
as he digs for food

do tides even care
which direction it sweeps in
rising up again
never to be wrong, I go
soothing warm waters, I trust

like rubber band planes
all ready for the take off
they get you wound up

techno scepter spy
scanning everyones eye
watch liberty die

forever alone
calls fall upon empty ponds
only wind replies

floods surge forth
fresh scars water washed
life renewed

Some just, well, must obsess
over the issues from the past
Combing over details to the last
Wishing things had been different
If they had done this with more intent
Did that this way not that, hell bent
Opening and closing this drama, trying
Again and again, crying and dying again
Every single time and again, Time better spent
On what to learn and apply Is what’s meant
Past proves present unless you love malcontent
Let the  past go. It’s so simple yet
Not many can do it takes practice
Forgiveness, redemption, commitment

light faded today
permanently darkened gray
this sadness will stay

twilight approaches
slowly chasing youthful light
until darkness reigns
