"snowcaps" poems
snowcaps fill my vision
perched upon window
seat; trees line winding
path, through it all I seek
that overhanging crag
hidden by hillside shrubs;
an opening pitch black
my secret cave; my
space for rumination,
that peace of mind that
follows a distortion of
fact, my becalming
before another storm
brews like an avalanche
waiting to happen.
I've come to terms within
self compensating for
other's shortcomings,
delineating oneself with
social grace; allowing
them to dig their own
graves, but, not at my
expense anymore, fore,
I will only compromise
on my terms amicably;
in reflections cave of
thought, minding my
business and leaving
theirs alone.

even from afar I could feel
his eyes on me; he seem
to mouth, come love let
me breathe my essence
between your lips;
allow my effluvium
to fill you with my misty
enchantment inhaling
my sweet aroma as it
floats from the snowcaps
of yesteryear so, I can melt
between fertile breast;
branching out stem to stem
affecting every capillary upon
entrance to your portal; I take
a double take blanching from
his stare, I cover my olfactory
senses; masking disdain
with every whiff of assault;
letting him know my lungs
are clearly off limits

Fresh was the morning atop the snowcaps lain,
Like crystal specks shimmering in the golden sun,
And tethered within the thick rocky-terrain,
It bounced its rays off of the peaks one-by-one,
These fragile ice-castles in their powdery-vale,
-Cradled the impact of the fallen hail.
The sun rippled sparks off the archaic Gneiss,
-Antiquating the gilded pool of beams,
The blooms were encased in a fortress of ice,
Sound asleep in their seasonal dreams,
The land embraced in the arms of father frost,
-Was buried deep and the ivory fields were lost! ©

May snow in Texas
Surely a sign of cooling
Yet not stressing it
The snowcaps disappear
And ice sheets may be melting
The last coral reef
Is it a cycle?
Come out on the other side?
With many smiles?
Yet where is the bear
And missing the humpback sea
I do feel crowded
Oh well, I'm old
Leave it all to the next group
They can handle it
Just look, can you tell
They won't be smart about it
You can see no care
Forget about that
You didn't care on your turn
And now it's our turn
You had your fun time
So now we want to party
We'll stress later

And I ~ for you
And I ~ cling to a fortress
of endless temptation
with rings made of gold
and a tree built of life
Faltering corners
in new found dimensions
a little left over
but so very nice
Clinging to them
And I ~ search in a fountain
with quarters for feelings
so far neath the waters
my song sings alone
On sea shells and posters
of rock concert heroes
with hair like a Sheppard
to call the sheep home
Calling to all
And I ~ call to the mountains
in echoes of sailors
with waves in the morning
and snowcaps at night
Floating horizons
alone on the wishes
that winds will prevail
and make everything right
Sailing again
And I ~ lean on a valley
of tree lines and saucers
with cups filled with coffee
to taste when it’s due
With smiles forever
and words down on paper
with love as my meaning
I write them ~ for you
Please hear my call

Nervously shoveling snowcaps
in my face
while watching in vain
for whitecaps
the only calm of the day

By: Cedric McClester,
Why are they at war with science
Especially when it calls for our compliance
They’d rather go by their gut’s reliance
Then to acquiesce so they remain defiant
Global e warming isn’t surreal
It’s fact-based not just how we feel
The moneyed interests know the deal
They just hope the science lacks mass appeal
The snowcaps are melting every day
And soon where will the grizzly bears stay
But as long as they can hold the truth at bay
They won’t let the evidence get in their way
Clearly it’s all about dollars and cents
And the public be ****** it’s at our expense
Some day it will all come out in the rinse
But until then we’ll remain in suspense
It’s for sure that our usage of fossil fuel
Will cause us all to drown in their polluted pool
Although ******** baffles brains as a general rule
I have to ask who are they trying to fool
It’s as if they don’t think we have eyes to see
And that we must be blind, or is that just me
You can fool some people that well may be
But they’re gonna see the light eventually
Florida is four feet above sea level
And that can be measured without a bevel
But it’s going down rapidly yet they’re not troubled
So their effort to obfuscate just gets doubled
They can say that the jury is still out
Guess they missed the verdict’s but there is no doubt
So they can continue to scream and shout
Though the truth of the matter they’ll never tout
