My whippet ran
as fast as the wind.

With a cheetahs gate
he could catch all.

And now he rests
his race is done,
all rabbits happy.

My Whippet gone,
now dust once again.

I've given him back,
from whence he came.

To run again
in cosmic fields,
waiting to be born.

On November 4th, we put down our dog, Frazier. He was in our home for 17 years.

Poison Ivy,
red rash on my limbs.

To the Doc I go,
a shot will do.

It grows on trees,
but they're immune,
their limbs aren't itching.

on the back porch
a planter stand sits

the seedlings sprouting
with much vigor

a good harvest
is assured
in the rich loamy soil
A first attempt at writing a Shanzi.
what joy he'll bring
that red suited man

presents of much glee
dolls and train sets

happy girls and boys
unwrapping gifts
it's Yuletide Season
a thousand ants
working together

co-operating
as a unit

the combining
of the masses
can achieve a goal
flowers in spring
blooms so vivacious

their colors shout look
aren't we brilliant

brightest glories
enthuse the eye
flamboyant arrays
far out to sea
the rescue boat went

the surfer battled
against the rip

staying ashore
would have saved
on all the peril
warped image
contorted of shape

blurred the focus
not quite correct

bingo good view
seeing better
what he's all about
short the reprieve
not an entire week

its return quite quick
again we burn

the sun's terror
not retreating
for a lengthy time

In the village
One is outstanding

Sparks so shine and bright
Shadow's reflect

some are shamrock
some are crystals
some are rare to find.
This is my first Shanzi!!!

a fantastic
prelude hath ushered

the brand New Year in
dazzling fireworks

all continents
decorated
with these sublime shows
stifling the heat
so oppressive

respite presents
neath a shady elm tree

these summer days
most tyrannical
we're seeking relief
advice given
two different views

one in disarray
what course to trace

might be better
to be guided
by my own instinct
two souls combing
thence fondness doth seal

their love volume
increases in joy

of a trinity
divine the rhyme
together as one
tinted glasses
impede a good view

one takes them off
all is clearer

seeing always
sharper and true
without a hinder
joyful event
an infant is born

a family blessed
life continues

his future seeds
carrying hopes
for new beginnings
on a journey
to other locale

floating on a dream
to wonderland

we take sojourns
through landscapes
of our vast mind space
rust erodes
caustic the etching

hurt is abrasive
corroding souls

upon the mind
these wounds appear
they stay ingrained
of rank lofty
the superior lion

all followed him
twas his calling

a baton lifts
the conductor
holding influence
two combining
melding ever close

a union divine
hearts sing with joy

one plus one
sweetly blending
so nice the melody
mountain vistas
implored him home

peaceful these surrounds
a soul calmed

melodies strong
resonated
which spoke of return
a eucalypt scent
wafted in the bush

its strong aroma
grasped the nose

plants gain notice
in nature's realm
by being pungent
upon the roof
small snowflakes fell

whence they had settled
a mat formed

those many pieces
merging as one
made a whole structure
colors merging
combined by the brush

a blended palette
for the artist

the poet's bic pen
creates a verse
with many hues of words
low disposition
fathoms deep of league

rarely light enters
dim the trough's shade

in a domain
bereft of shine
misery doth prevail
some good some bad
the tenure alters

moods high and moods low
ever changing

outlooks varying
in people's days
bipolar these views
independence
ruling for one's self

a nation under
stars and stripes

Americans
do celebrate
British disbarred
unaware folks
tasted the liar's spiel*

on misguided trail
lost in a cheat

the spin doctor
bore no honesty
*disciples conned
