"heartstorm" poems
Tomorrow the sun will rise
just as it has
Oh so many times
but the storm will run its course tonight
words as rain, more like tears of pain
and it just so happens that she just might....
dance in the dampness of her heartstorm with delight.

Sometimes the storm comes
And you never see it
Sometimes it hurts so much
But there's no evidence
Besides the words
And the feelings
And the images
Burned into your brain
Because you can't imagine
Not telling her
That you love her
Every single chance you get.
But then the lightning strikes
And the thunder cracks
And you're on the ground.
It's not over
But lightning never strikes
The same spot twice.
So one day
You'll be living your life
Minding your own business
And it will hit you
And you will hear the crackle
And it will feel just as bad
If not worse
Than the first time.

*I saw her today
finally she is out of her house.
But she is wearing a coat of despair.
The pain is palpable
I can feel its pressure.
just like the throbbing of my head
before a powerful thunderstorm.
But of course
her pain is in her heart
it cannot escape
by means of lightening
or thunder filled torrents of rain.
And thankfully it is so,
For this world is not capable
of handling the storm
that would be unleashed
by her broken heart.*
