"danica" poems
Our paths are paved here
with smooth black asphalt
lined with s-cut stones
so we won't have to touch
ground
between our semi-detached
houses
and our small fenced gardens.
Our paths lead to nurseries
and to school
and a medium sized supermarket
and they are all flanked with well kept
bushes and lawns
This is Suburbia Danica
Our paths are made like circles
so we stay
Our children don't get lost
and our happiness doesn't
escape.

Russell, Taynon, Josh and Stephanie
Thank you for willing to be seen with me
Zack, Anthony, Lili and Max
Thank you for accepting all of the facts
Danica, Cody, Shayne and Steven
Thank you for keeping the playing field even
I know I’m forgetting so many names
So many faces and so many claims
So, to all of you who I call friend
Here is the message I’m gonna send:
You’ve all been there through thick and thin
Better friends there have never been
Stories, poems, rants and obsession
You listen and aid my mental progression
I could write this thing all day
And still I know it would not say
What you have all come to be
And what you all mean to me
And yeah I know, I’m awesome too
My being here is an honor to you
But my dear Ninja, Artist, and my Writer
My prep, my worshipper and my oddball character
You’re the ones with whom I rock out
You’re the ones who won’t let me pout
So, speaking quite seriously
I hope you don’t ever leave me.
SO! Please stand up and cheer
All of my friends here
Because if you don’t it will be quite queer…

At night,
When we look up
I put that betelguese,
On a tiny saturn's disc
Molded with our fire love
Under the cross and a priest
Her eyes,
Like a crescent moon
Where you'll see her abysmal joy
You'll get to capture a moment,
When she's smiling
Yet they are blur
Stars, they are billions above
Not so pretty sure about that
Like when she'll be back
She took my heart and soul
Relationship is like Jupiter
Full of never ending storms
Then my boy ask me,
"So why that star is still there?"
She throw it away I guess
"Name a star or a Galaxy!"
Danica, maybe
"Why is it so dark in heaven?"
It's a secret Tommy,
You better ask my love
"Is that the infinity?"
Oh well she is
"Where is she?"
See that shining?
It's her forehead
Please don't tell her what I'm sayin'
I might meet death
"Look it's a meteor!"
Where?
"You're too late to catch on"
You're right, like I always do
Don't worry my son,
I know where it is
She'll be home soon
We'll just wait here my dear
Until your Mom wakes us up here
