"bto" poems
Far in the sky high
twinkling lights shy
Oh doth thou fade
or for eternity made
Light years to fly to thee
yet thou ny destiny to be
starlight shining bright
in tis darkest moment bto light

to many classic , pop rock , songs
while I work away re-building
a wall or roof , it makes the day go faster,
I hammer while singing at the top of my lungs,
songs such as this ( I hate it when they change the lyrics without
informing me though):
Baking Carrot Biscuits by BTO;
Wipe in the Vaseline by the Eagles;
or my favorite Comfortably Dumb by Pink Floyd.
I only sing off key when the band forgets the lyrics
or I smash my thumb with my hammer
or the cute neighbor girl I am bare-chested trying to impress
calls the cops, or the owner wanting me to go away
with the job half finished pays me for the day.

It's time to come together
There's no better time than now
Elbows up for Canada
Time to be like Gordie Howe
It's time to tell the stories
Of Canada the good
It's time to tell the stories
Like Gordon Lightfoot would
Fight like you are cornered
Drag them screaming on this trip
It's time to tell our story
Like Gord Downie and The Hip
Keep the elbows up forever
Show them the best of what you do
Dance and tell the story
Like BTO and The Guess Who
Show the world what makes us special
Sing of all our loves and likes
Tell the story of our country
Play it loud just like the pikes
It's time to write the story
Come together, be as one
Elbows up like Gordie
Be a true Canadian
