i remember a song my daddy used to sing

all about a dog he was just a stray
roaming wild and free without a place to stay

a silver haired old lady saw him in the park
then the dog he saw her and he began to bark
when she saw the dog she took him to her home
dog he settled down no longer has to roam

as the years went bye the old lady passed away
to heaven up above where the angels stay
her family kept the house now the dog had security
and loved for evermore he would  always be
