How does he laugh?
Tell me.
I imagine church bells,
the chirping of birds.
Lovely sounds to hear.

How does he talk?
I need to know.
Is he a charmer?
An interesting talker,
a real heart-skipper?

How does he hold you?
A true gentleman,
Careful not to crush you?
Or a passionate lover?
Oblivious of his feelings.

How does he kiss?
Tell me, please…
If he’s cautious or obsessive,
I bet he’s as wonderful,
as the glorious heaven above.

Take care of him, my friend.
Do hold on to his heart.
Give him all your love.
Don’t leave him astray.
For tomorrow he could be mine.

Gentle rays of the morning,
beautiful promise of dawn.
As the land lays unmoving,
I spread my wings against the sun.

The clearest blue horizon,
serene, magnificent heavens.
A gay feeling of freedom,
I soar towards the open seas.

The world has lost its splendor,
barren lands… poisonous waters.
With the rise of new cities,
doom befalls the earthly creatures.

Sadness betrays my proud heart.
My hunger and my great losses,
heavy trials for my strength.
Still, I soar with the highest hopes.

One day, I shall have my home,
to dwell with mg daughters once more.
For now, I have my haven,
in the glorious sky above.

Alas, pain rips trough my chest,
blood gushes from my tiny heart.
Shot by hunters from the earth,
I plunge into the deepest sea.

A victim of man’s madness,
I am the last of my kind.
This is my tale of sadness,
my wasted life as an eagle.

In a dark and serene place,
An empty heart achingly beats.
The cold night touches his soul.
He is lost but not alone.

Such gloomy uncertainties,
Fear for his sweetest love and life.
The changing world, his menace,
to keep a devotion alive.

Her kiss awakens his senses,
fiery and passionately.
He engulfs her in his arms.
She’s his for all eternity.

No more fear for the unknown,
As their racing hearts beat as one.
Her hold, a satisfaction,
With her tender arms, he is home.

With each day
She weakens
With each day
She falls
The end for her is in her sights

There was a time
When she forgot
When she feared the flame
But now she understands
Now she waits

There was a day
When it began
When her candle started to flicker
And a fear rose from her gut
Because she knew her fate

The fire spread
She felt the warmth and held her breath
She knew what to expect
And she liked it
And she loved it

From the ashes she stood
Again, for the first time
She felt her heart flutter beneath her skin
Felt the wind blow past her face
And began yet another life

With each day
Time passes
With each year
Death grows closer
And with death a new life will begin
A friend of mine calls me a phoenix, and so he inspired this poem
gliding through unbroken water
night-cooled hands
caressing my body
unhindered sun baking my shoulders

myriad of rainbows
reflecting in ripples
on the bottom of the pool
on the surface of my consciousness

sliding
slicing
from light into shadow
shadow into light

until the sun rises high in the sky
until only the silhouette of a flickering palm
casts its mark
in the blueness beneath

muscles pumping
heart beating
blood charging
lightening in my veins

Phoenix

born of fire and water

soaring

Borne for the new day,
from the ashes it rises.
Gone is yesterday,
Tomorrow’s promise remains.

A fresh beginning,
as the morning sun seeps in.
Never an ending,
for a broken soul in search.

Gloomy memories,
lay behind and forgotten.
A new start to face.
It spread its wings for heaven!

'To die and live again.'
******* a kiss, doll
And I'll lead the way;
I'll show you where all those mermaid lay,
give you a carriage of pumpkins and magic
name what you want, and there you shall have it;
I'll go and bow down to the Elven Kings,
and watch you with pride as he gives you a ring;
We'll talk to the sprites and flee from the ghosts,
Meet pretty princesses (I love you most)
We'll watch unicorns as they gallop and prance,
And when we see stars we'll just get up and dance,
Make several wishes from genies aplenty,
So many nymphs, at least fifteen or twenty
Will take us to dragons that are blowing blue fire,
And knights with bright swords (of which I'll admire)
We'll run to the place where the phoenix all meet,
See them slack-jawed as they sparkle with heat,
And then when it's time to finally sleep,
Please close your eyes and then kiss me so sweet,
And when we wake up in lands of metal machines,
I know we're not where there's ogres and queens,
But you're still my princess, and trust me my dear,
Somehow your kisses are sweeter right here.
The first rhyming poem I've written in quite a long time; suggestions, comments, and criticism all appreciated. Thanks for reading. (:
I want to sleep forever and reside in my dreams
To frolic through a collage of different spectacles and scenes
An escape from the insufferable, cruel world at large
I want to sleep forever

I want to sleep forever so I can live in my dreams
The ruler of the lands, the queen of all kings
With nothing to fear but the darkside of the conscience
I want to sleep forever

I want to sleep forever and fight my inner demons
Provide peace of mind for all bothered and exhausted
Float on utter bliss; those monsters, I'll never miss
I want to sleep forever

I want to sleep forever and never show sadness again
Bright, long-lasting smiles on weekly sullen days
Created and maintained in a variety of ways
I want to sleep forever

I want to sleep forever to erase everything
I want to sleep forever and feel warmth again
To bathe myself in content that won't ever end
Let me sleep forever

— The End —
