stellar direction in undulating terrain
punctuated by meteoric columns of infinite light
imparting a clutching embrace to the face of now

lunar reflections form a fluid nocturnal path
to an osculated gateway of fertile encompassment
culminating in breathless pillows of untabled silence

stars without fault grace the expressive heavens
while muted words gaze out through rooftop eyes
cascading over living stone in waterfalls of emotional geodes

Sometimes he let his eyes rest on hers, it needn't have been painful,
but it strangely was.
He broke a lifetime of avoiding eye contact to show her.
She was worth overcoming obstacles for.

Pale faces and even whiter smiles,
Big sweaters, flannels and the way your boots sounded.
Tell me you love me,
I'm forgetting your voice.
Once more darling,
You're my drug of choice.
Catch the snowflakes on your eyelashes,
Can I make a wish upon your lips?
Maybe you'll stay the night this time,
One, two, three strokes on my hip.
Pretend you care,
Just one more night.
Winter love,
Melts just as fast,
Even with your heart of ice.

My wife, a psychiatrist, sleeps
through my reading and writing in bed,
the half-whispered lines,
manuscripts piled between us,

but in the deep part of night
when her beeper sounds
she bolts awake to return the page
of a patient afraid he'll **** himself.

She sits in her robe in the kitchen,
listening to the anguished voice
on the phone. She becomes
the vessel that contains his fear,

someone he can trust to tell
things I would tell to a poem.

i wanted you to be my poem
your body the notebook
my tongues is the pen
that will ***** all my feeling on you
my lips will engrave my words into your soul
& my heart will entwined with yours

i wanted you to be my poem

tell me that you need me,
and that you never want
me to leave.

be my poem

write your deepest darkest secrets on my body
& i promise to never wipe them away

be my poem
i wont judge you or criticize your writing
even if the poem you decide to be is not the one i was looking forward to reading

be my poem

him
Him
They way he laughs
The kindness of his heart
The sweetest talk
He warms me up
He heals me
Every little scar
That was added on by the devil
The way he looks at me
How his sweet hazel eyes shine
How they shine just for me
For someone so fragile
That was broken and how she would bleed
He cured her
Oh how sweet
How loving
There lies my boy the cure to my needs

the new year
is a time of revision
becoming new again
and if thats how
it's supposed to be
then why
do I feel the same?

crystalized veins,
and a moon rock heart--
only shooting myself in the foot,
but i like to watch the blood
flow. the stubborn
stalk doesn't need
water to grow.
fool of my own
demise, but you
have to die to
reach heaven.
so i'll stick to my
guns no matter
what.

who I am

I am open-minded and complex
I wonder about my future
I hear the ocean kiss the shore
I see the sun die every night for the moon to live
I want freedom
I am open-minded and complex
I pretend to be happy and content
I feel like a mother holding her baby for the first time
I touch every star in the nights sky
I worry I will get everything I dream of but will even be unhappy then
I cry over my fallen angel
I am open-minded and complex
I understand forgiveness
I say la ilaha illallah wa muhammadar rasulullah
I dream of blissful memories with her
I try to make her proud
I hope she is watching over me
I am open-minded and complex
