A Mink
Maybe I'll date him.
That guy who looks like
you.
Maybe when he laughs he'll get
those dimples just like
yours.
Maybe I'll get lucky and
he'll smell just like
you.

Maybe the way he will look at
me will be the same as
you.
Maybe even the cigarettes he smokes
will be the exact same as
yours.
Maybe I'll get lucky and
get to date another
you.

His eyes are different than yours though.
They're not brown like yours.
His hair doesn't fall just right like yours
either.

But maybe he'll be enough like you.
Maybe when I close my eyes I can pretend its you
again.
They'll all just be place holders for you anyway...
Maybe... I should just go to another Starbucks.
Alone
With my thoughts
In the dark
Of the night

Moonless
Starless
Dreams now take flight

I dream of tomorrow
And of days long since past
I sit in the dark
Alone here at last

I once wanted peace
And quiet within
Now I know loneliness
And quiet within

I want sunlight
And warmth from another
Chaos and laughter
I want my true lover

Tiffany
Once you’ve been to the breaking point
There’s a mark on your soul forever
A wound that deep doesn’t disappear
It’ll heal, but the scar will leave you never

I can still picture in my mind
The little pills piled in my hand
The knot in my stomach
Things going as planned

I remember the panic
When I swallowed those pills
Throwing them back up
Too scared to make the ****

Isn’t that human nature though
Survival drilled into our being
Even when you want it all to end
That ******* instinct keeps your heart beating

I look back on those days
And still feel the shame
Thinking those watchful eyes knew my secret
Stupid I know, but I felt it just the same

Can you imagine the desperation
To be at the end of your rope?
Then living with those actions forever
Struggling to recapture lost hope
Well can you?

Pirates Cove

Water wives live sheltered lives
Amongst the coves where pirates rove

Daily catch is makers match
Where red hot stoves hide fresh baked loaves

Water men are thick and thin
So often strove where shipmates hove

Water child is often wild
The treasure trove where pirates roved

All in fun, my village friends.
