a car travels in the night
Alex Jun 2017
my car prowls through the night

Stealthy crawling through the dark

With eyes shining like the beacon

Of a lighthouse

Blazing through the night

Chasing away the curtain of darkness

Laid upon the ground

Like man's first fire

Protesting the darkness and death within

Seeking to bring warmth from a cold, dead night

But even as the tail lights

Cast a red glow

Glaring at the darkness behind it

The darkness returns, slithering like the lies of death

As my island of light

Travels in the void of night
First poem I've done in a while! Hope you enjoy
