I have lost
All sense
Of time
Caught in a
A web of
Nothingness

This early morning
A Crayola box
Of one hundred
Exploded into the universe
More then one
Versions of
Pinks and yellows
Blues and purples
And oranges
What an awesome
Sight
Awaited me
As first I peeked
Through the
Slitted blinds
And upon pulling
The blinds
The Master's Peace
Appeared

Hello morning sun
Lighting up my room
Thought I left
The light on
Don't need a light
Switch
You know just
When.to
Turn.off and on

You hurled your
Vicious words at me
As long as I'm in
The game
I'll play
Duck  Duck  Goose
I'm tagged
I'm it alright

Don't look at me
With those puppy dog eyes
Making me feel shame
Hurting you the way
I stupidly did
Reflected in your eyes
You hissed right back
Spitting words of hurt
Now making shame

Did I just imagine
Twenty four gulls
Soaring over the lake
Diving into the water
It's lonesome without
You here
Did I just imagine
The grasshopper
In the blade of grass
What about the last
Of leaves
Gracefully falling to
The ground
The red tipped wing
Of the black crow
A frost tipped leaf
In early morning
Light
Did I really see all of
These wonders
Today there are no gulls
How sad as I slowly
Walk the path
Just beginning to
Think my imagination
Was just absurdity
Suddenly a gull.came
Soaring past me
Reminding me
It is real

Silence is calling
Time to gather up my thoughts
And put them to use

Honking in the sky
Geese are flying overhead
Time for morning tea

Covid dreams racing
Through my mind
Going at full speed
Avoiding obstacles
Along the way
One hurdle after
Another
Avoiding crashing
But cannot brake
Spinning in circles
Stirring up dust
And making
Lots of noise
Where is the
Finish line
I ask
Gasping for air

I miss my kiddos
Just giving me a purpose
To get up early

My head was drooping
Could it get any lower
Out of the corner
Of my eye
A child's colorful
Chalking appeared
My head lifted up
How could i miss
Such beauty

Ducks gliding gracefully
In the lake
Singing their song
Stilling  the waters
Such a peaceful sight
Oh for my soul
To glide gracefully upon
The land
Singing a song
And stilling my heart

Poetry is a gift
Unwrap carefully
The contents are exposed
Bringing tears to the eyes
Or perhaps a smile
What one accepts
Another refuses
The giver is vulnerable
Giving openly of themselves

Deep within
My heart
For me to

Piece

And put back
Together again

This is the time of
Day I miss you most
The pomegranate sky
Birds flying home
Stillness  filtering
The air
Silencing my
Memories of
Yesterday
How I wish
You were here
To talk to
And laugh with
Say goodnight to
I'll whisper to
The angel passing

Birds barely visible
As masking takes place
Can't tell if there's a snarl
Or smile that you wear
Distance keeps us apart
Conversation turns to screaming
Rabbits are fleeing
Birds circling high
Ducks further in water
What once was near
Seems eons away

Tears fall.on the ground
And leaving spots all over
Sun will dry them up

curling in my lap
Motor sounds growing louder
Happily purring

was it really worth
The lack of sleep
Wrinkled sheets
Sunk in pillow
Puffy eyes
Chills from early morn
Dried out pen
Hansel and Gretels'
Leftover crumbs
Leading to a
Paper trail of verse
Perhaps the answer
Lies in a candy coated
House
Inviting one in
Or a stove inside
Ready to burn
Words that make
No sense to
The unheeding world

Miners dug for gold
Poets found golden treasure
Words buried soul deep

Dreams more like the dark
Hidden deep inside of me
Come to the surface

I am there for you
Like you've always been for me
Now we are just one

Food on a laced cloth
Intricate cover
Spills of gravy
Stains of cranberry
Crumbs of leftover
Pumpkin pie
But amidst it all
The remaining gift
Of laughter
Left to stay

Stench of decayingwords
Piled deep within me
Repulsing my soul
Burning a hole
In my heart
Waiting to be released
Nothing emerges
Tears of long ago
Have driven away
The desire to let go
Only ashes remain

use to sit by a radiator
Early in the morn
Hours past that
I was unaware
Armed with my Bible
My notebook for poetry
Or thoughts that would occur
A peaceful time
Perhaps two or three
When souls are sleeping
And my heart is aching
For words to read and share
My radiator has since
Disappeared into new hands
Hope they find the magic
of warming your back
And cleansing your soul
I have

With all of my flaws
I carry around each day
Who's  the real turkey

If Mary said no
To be the Mother of God
Would we still be here

Especially now every breath
We take is a miracle
Every step we take
Is a blessing
The song we sing
Is an Alleluia
Waiting to happen
Spread our wings
And fly freely
Let our breath be praised
Our steps  with a purpose
And our song
A symphony to the Lord

I like the sound
Of my Christmas
Music boxes
Of various
Shapes and sounds
I wind them
Up each Christmas
But just enough
Twists and turns
So that I can
Rewind and play
Them
Again and again
And store the today's
Memories
For next year

The sky grows darker
My mood seems to fit right in
Oh moon where are you

Words can you
Come out and play
Wrestle with my mind
Clear my head
So I can toss a
Poem around
Or two
Don't hold back

Balloons held tightly

A purring kitten

Passing through
Gathering with family
In sickness and in health
Doing worship
With all you've got

Buttons popping out
Coffee stained.from all nighters
Of writing prose
Bulging.pockets with
A hanky or two
Pens.poking out
From the side
Loose strings that
You pulled at
Hoping for words
To put on paper
The deeper the thought
The bigger the hole

Safely hidden away

Passed warning sign
Child sensory impaired
Would he miss the sound
Of cars zooming by
The repetitive sound
Of a basketball
The rustling of.leaves
And barking dogs
And screaming peers
As the school bus drops
Him off
And that's just the
Beginning of day
So many sounds to hear
But who is really
Sensory impaired
Do we hear the sound
Of our brother
When he is in need
Or listen to tear drops
Falling down one's  face
Or listening to children
Who cry in the dark
And birds that sing
Do we hear their song  
Are we sensory impaired

Goodbye geese

Morning call
Honking in the
Early morn
The loud flapping
Of heavy wings
Racing toward
The pond
Watching you chase
One another
Sometimes even getting
In a bite
Of a lagging tail
Moving your necks
Up and down
Searching for food
Or just sitting
So peacefully
Not even moving
As if carved in stone
Yes I will miss
You
And carve those
Fond memories in.
My heart
And when times
Get too rough
I can retrace
Those memories
And put
A smile upon
My face

Fairy Tales  Ferdinand
Mike the Steam Shovel
Madeline Good Night Moon
And so many more
The pictures  the rhythm
These books lift me up
Put a smile on my face
Thinking of my mom
Or dad sharing a story with me
These books were the mortar
For my foundation of reading
And building my own words
Into a poem

I thought I was through
And the day was over with
Then the words came in

Moon beaming through
My window
Waking me up
From the darkness
And into her snowy
Light
Nightmares disappear
As the brilliance of
Light
Dances upon the shadows
Stars a blinking
And a winking
Sending kisses goodnight

Masked children running
To catch the bus
Watching out for
Cracked sidewalks
Can children hear greeting
From masked rider
Teachers near desks
Plastic headgear on tight
Laughtet from children
Muffled by mask
Footsteps softer as
Distance is kept
Will it ever
Be the same
Or is this
The new normal

My poem is ruined
As water washes
Away my thoughts
Was dropping my
Cold glass of
Tangerine sparkling water
A deliberate act
Or did I really
Have something
To say

My heart needs repairing
Shattered by wounds
Of self neglect
And bruised by others
Years of torment
Ripping it apart
No doctor can
Mend the damage
That has been done
So let the healing
Begin

Early age
With the rhythmic
Sound of

Childhood
Use your words
Perhaps that was

Best Things
Said to us

The sound of the white birds
Soaring by
Calling to me
With each
SCREEECH
Come fly with us
Do you see us
Hoarding
Or overcome with
Heavy burdens
Are tears flowing
From pain
Or hearts beating
With sorrow
Dive into the
Fresh water
And cool your
Burning heart
Cleanse yourself
And drink
Of Life
Come follow
And let your
Heart take flight

No one knows I'm scared
Just hiding behind my mask
So nobody sees

Inspired by a child
Another sun colored
Laboriously on paper
Created  by a child
Flashy sun painted
Proudly on canvas
Gifted by child
Tiny suns giant suns
Connected suns
Undone suns
Did the sun disappear
From us.

I liked sadness
Or so I thought
Until Nature
Presented herself
Before me
Where moonlight
And starlit skies
Danced before me
And the magic
Sound of frogs
Croaked goodnight
Amidst the stilling waters
The hush of mommas
Singing sweet lullabies
To their children
Dogs waiting by their
Master's slippers
Hoping for one
Last walk
Fires glowinginside
Sending signals of smoke
To travel.in
The sky
Perhaps it's not
So bad after all
To join in
The rhythm of
The night
Knowing.somewhere
You are loved

Day draws  to a close
Darkness has appeared
The moon brightly shines
Leaving dancing shadows
On my blanket
Stars above twinkle
Hoping to join in the show
But there are too.many
Out there to join in the fun
There's a calmness in the air
Stilling the hearts all around
Time to settle in and breathe
In the magic of nighttime
Close your eyes and dream
Of a  new tomorrow
Let your worries diminish
