Hello morning sun
Lighting up my room
Thought I left
The light on
Don't need a light
Switch
You know just
When.to
Turn.off and on

You hurled your
Vicious words at me
As long as I'm in
The game
I'll play
Duck  Duck  Goose
I'm tagged
I'm it alright

For those who.have
Been torn apart
From brutal words
Broken into pieces
By crimes of hate
Laughed at
Because of economic
Or religious state
Left alone for
No reason
Stayed away for
Fear
Of being laughed at
Or even rejected
May you find sun
In your days
To warm you
And take away
The pain
Hope a loving soul
Will find you
And give you a
Gentle kiss and
Strong embrace
But better yet
Let you know
That you are
Specially designed

Drenched in tears
You came into
My unsuspecting life
Wrapped you in
A blanket of warmth
To dry bullied
Tears away
And bandage up
Long ago wounds
It might not
Be a permanent solution
But for now
You are safe

Silence is calling
Time to gather up my thoughts
And put them to use

Moon beaming through
My window
Waking me up
From the darkness
And into her snowy
Light
Nightmares disappear
As the brilliance of
Light
Dances upon the shadows
Stars a blinking
And a winking
Sending kisses goodnight

you dipped your pen in
Flowing ink
Painted vibrant words
To read
Your canvas was
Lined paper
Revealing a masterpiece
Of  poetic words

Honking in the sky
Geese are flying overhead
Time for morning tea

Walks in the morning dew
Balloons held tightly
Warmth of sun
And wind tossed hair
A purring kitten
Gently near
Of course a book
Or even two
The wonder of children
Passing through
Gathering with family
In sickness and in health
Doing worship
With all you've got
Taking in the sad
With the glad
What will you
Take with you
And what will you
Leave behind
You shall not pass
This way again
So let the
Son shine through

Don't look at me
With those puppy dog eyes
Making me feel shame
Hurting you the way
I stupidly did
Reflected in your eyes
You hissed right back
Spitting words of hurt
Now making shame

Need a song to sing
Just don't know the melody
Humming in my heart

My head was drooping
Could it get any lower
Out of the corner
Of my eye
A child's colorful
Chalking appeared
My head lifted up
How could i miss
Such beauty

I miss my kiddos
Just giving me a purpose
To get up early

Words can you
Come out and play
Wrestle with my mind
Clear my head
So I can toss a
Poem around
Or two
Don't hold back
Let me cross the
Finish line
Where my spirit will
Be set free

Celebrate with me
The full moon is on the run
Let's  dance in her light

Today i need an
Old friend
I will revisit
My childhood friends
Mother Goose  Curious George
Fairy Tales  Ferdinand
Mike the Steam Shovel
Madeline Good Night Moon
And so many more
The pictures  the rhythm
These books lift me up
Put a smile on my face
Thinking of my mom
Or dad sharing a story with me
These books were the mortar
For my foundation of reading
And building my own words
Into a poem

The sky grows darker
My mood seems to fit right in
Oh moon where are you

I am there for you
Like you've always been for me
Now we are just one

Miners dug for gold
Poets found golden treasure
Words buried soul deep

Food on a laced cloth
Intricate cover
Spills of gravy
Stains of cranberry
Crumbs of leftover
Pumpkin pie
But amidst it all
The remaining gift
Of laughter
Left to stay

Keep me from saying
What I feel
Let me keep it
Buried inside
Crashing into
Skeletons of long ago
Take my pen
Let me bury
my thoughts
So I can
Keep my dignity

With all of my flaws
I carry around each day
Who's  the real turkey

How hard to see him
Blending in the brown bushes
Oh to camouflage

My poem is ruined
As water washes
Away my thoughts
Was dropping my
Cold glass of
Tangerine sparkling water
A deliberate act
Or did I really
Have something
To say

How can I cry
When I have
Opened my eyes
How can I
Be mad
When I could
Put my feet
Upon the ground
Unassisted
How can I
Give up
When a Life
Has just been taken
How can I quit
When I have
Only.just
Begun
It may seem
Dark
But light.is
Hiding
Peeking behind
Covered clouds

Silent whispers
Softly sung lullabies
Cats purring
Tongue wiping
After milk
Sweet goodnight
Kisses
As Momma tucks
You in
Daddy whispers
Good night
New falling snow
Tears falling
Softly Down your
Cheeks
Kindly close the
Door
And turn off
The light

My heart needs repairing
Shattered by wounds
Of self neglect
And bruised by others
Years of torment
Ripping it apart
No doctor can
Mend the damage
That has been done
So let the healing
Begin

wrote my nightmares
In fresh falling snow
Hoping they would disappear
Drip by drip
Like icicles from the tree
Crackling goodbye

Forgetting everything
Some things that
Should be forgotten
Other things that
Should not be forgotten
I won't remember today
I won't remember tomorrow
But just let me
Remember now

On written scraps of paper
Blown in the wind

I have lost
All sense
Of time
Caught in a
A web of
Nothingness

Tears fall.on the ground
And leaving spots all over
Sun will dry them up

Words travel
In time
In books
In speech
In thought
Wordstouch
In soul
In heart
In mind
Words print
In books
In mind
In soul.
Words gift
In heart
In sharing
In truth
Words are meant
To be shared
To be eaten
To be digested
To be tenderly
Cared for
Words are written.said
Prayed and sung
Words are a treasure
To be
Buried in the heart
Or shared with others
Words aren't  just words
Words are the
Hidden unicorns
Of our being

The sound of the white birds
Soaring by
Calling to me
With each
SCREEECH
Come fly with us
Do you see us
Hoarding
Or overcome with
Heavy burdens
Are tears flowing
From pain
Or hearts beating
With sorrow
Dive into the
Fresh water
And cool your
Burning heart
Cleanse yourself
And drink
Of Life
Come follow
And let your
Heart take flight

was it really worth
The lack of sleep
Wrinkled sheets
Sunk in pillow
Puffy eyes
Chills from early morn
Dried out pen
Hansel and Gretels'
Leftover crumbs
Leading to a
Paper trail of verse
Perhaps the answer
Lies in a candy coated
House
Inviting one in
Or a stove inside
Ready to burn

No sense to
The unheeding world

A cold morn

No geese around
Or Squirrels
No noise
Not even the
Wind

Chime
Almost too quiet

curling in my lap
Motor sounds growing louder
Happily purring

Things just got bad
Sadness centered around
Flowers drooping
Tears flowing
No sun in sight
I need a voice
I need a poem

Birds barely visible
As masking takes place
Can't tell if there's a snarl
Or smile that you wear
Distance keeps us apart
Conversation turns to screaming
Rabbits are fleeing
Birds circling high
Ducks further in water
What once was near
Seems eons away

Ducks gliding gracefully
In the lake
Singing their song
Stilling  the waters
Such a peaceful sight
Oh for my soul
To glide gracefully upon
The land

And stilling my heart

You lay scattered
Deep within
My heart
For me to
Sort
Piece

And put back
Together again

I like the sound
Of my Christmas
Music boxes
Of various
Shapes and sounds
I wind them
Up each Christmas
But just enough
Twists and turns
So that I can
Rewind and play
Them
Again and again
And store the today's
Memories
For next year

Penning words perhaps
Never meant to
Be written
Disappear when a phone call
Erases my thoughts
Perhaps they weren't meant
To be there
In the first place
But let me hang up
So I can try again

Masked children running
To catch the bus
Watching out for
Cracked sidewalks
Can children hear greeting
From masked rider
Teachers near desks
Plastic headgear on tight
Laughtet from children
Muffled by mask
Footsteps softer as
Distance is kept
Will it ever
Be the same
Or is this
The new normal

Morning is dawning
You can hear.the birds
Waking each other up
From one tree
To the next
Until all.trees are full of
Morning song
Dogs are barking
One by one
For morning
Wake up call
Cats try sneaking in
After being out
All night
Coffee is perking
Tea kettles whistling
The smell of bacon
In the air
Stretching and yawning
Slippers are swishing
Time to get up
And go
Anew day Has begun

If Mary said no
To be the Mother of God
Would we still be here

Goodbye geese
I will.miss your
Morning call
Honking in the
Early morn
The loud flapping
Of heavy wings
Racing toward
The pond
Watching you chase
One another
Sometimes even getting
In a bite
Of a lagging tail
Moving your necks
Up and down
Searching for food
Or just sitting
So peacefully
Not even moving
As if carved in stone
Yes I will miss
You
And carve those
Fond memories in.
My heart
And when times
Get too rough
I can retrace
Those memories
And put
A smile upon
My face
But for now
When it's time
To go
