Light shadows
Dancing in the wind
Warming in the sun
Sunny figures
Dancing on the
Ground
Shadows disappearing
As the sun
Fades away

Iced upon the window
Intricate designs
In diamonds and
Unconnected lines
Frozen in time
Until the warm
Sun appears
And melts the
Magic away
Like fairy dust

It was an
Awesome sight
Watching all the
Geese
In December song
Honking with glee
Flapping their wings
Chasing each other
Oh the fun
They had
The noise
They made
Suddenly they took
Off
Their gleeful honking
Echoing the air

Please pass the milk
Pass the potatoes
Please pass a napkin
My pen is close
At hand

Food on a laced cloth
Intricate cover
Spills of gravy
Stains of cranberry
Crumbs of leftover
Pumpkin pie
But amidst it all
The remaining gift
Of laughter
Left to stay

Reflection on lake
Trees adorned in
Dead leaves that
Haven't touched
The ground
Houses with a sun deck
Birds flying over
Suddenly your shadow
Is cast
And somehow
Distorts the beauty

Sitting

Broken heart
Broken dishes
Queasy stomach
Long held tears
Bed of roses
Hurtful thorns
Your reality
Has become
My reality

Lost my poetry
On written scraps of paper
Blown in the wind

I have lost
All sense
Of time
Caught in a
A web of
Nothingness

What are you
Thinking about
As you aimlessly stir
Your coffee around
It's getting cold
You haven't taken
A sip
Pouring cream
Hoping for a
Reflection of
Your thoughts
After wincing
And a heavy sigh
You add sugar
To sweeten the
Bitterness
Of today

Slowly I rocked
Without making a sound

Thinking of
  ..TODAY
Thinking of
      TOMORROW
The rhythm has
Stopped
So have my
Thoughts

Warm thanks
Fly through
The air
Hoping to spread
Love
Not disease

The moon in the sky
Looked grey
Yet bright enough
To shine
Through the peaks
In my blinds
And bold enough
To wink
Goodnight
To me

Don't have to travel
Or even walk.out the door
For it's home sweet home

I pictureone less chair
Today
For someone who lost
A friend  family  member
To covid
Though that place
Can never be filled
May. Memories of
Gentle love
Warm your
Saddened hearts
And may their light
Burn brightly
In your
Broken heart
No it doesn't
Make any sense
And it never will
But angels will
Now fly above and
Within you
To lighten your step
Hang on as you
Soar among.
Heaven's own

Oh so many tears
Drip by Drip they quickly.fell
Until none were left

You left me alone
Standing at the corner
Of Betwixt and Between
With nowhere to go
And certainly nowhere
To turn
Only one way to go
Straight ahead

With all of my flaws
I carry around each day
Who's  the real turkey

I have a home
You have none
I have a blanket

I have food
You have none
Let me share my home
With you
And cover you with love
And nourish you
With food
Let me give you
Shoes and an
Extra hand
To travel the road
So you won't be
So alone

Unassisted

Has just been taken

It may seem
Dark
But light.is
Hiding
Peeking behind
Covered clouds

Today if we can smell
Raise our heads

And breathe
On our own

My coworker left
An extra napkin
On the table
For me
Perhaps that is
The best thing
She could have
Done
As I picked
Up my pen
And began
Writing

Poetry at an
Early age
With the rhythmic
Sound of
Ma ma
Da da
And continue
Throughout our
Childhood
Use your words
Perhaps that was
One of the
Best Things
Said to us

So many words
Just floating through
My head
Can't make any
Sense of them
Not now
Any way
Perhaps i should
Let them be
Until they are
Ready to share

Spying on nature
Peeking through the
Now wrinkled curtains
Smiling while watching
The geese
So many landed
Now dancing on
The dewy ground
Flapping their
Sturdy wings
Some hunting for
The days'food
Others swimming
In unison
While the energetic
Ones
The bold
Ones
Play tag
Your it
Suddenly a cue
Seen only through
Nature's call
Summons the geese
As they form a
VEEEE
And noisily
Take off

Sitting i wait
For an answer
The time is
Drawing nigh
Thoughts dizzying
My already
Overworked mind
Tossing over and over
Like my clothes
In the dryer
Do I have
An answer
Maybe I never should
Have anxiously
Awaited
When the answer
Was here
All along

Honking in the sky
Geese are flying overhead
Time for morning tea

Such a peaceful time
Early morn is
To awaken
While the world
Is still sleeping

Catching the first
Sounds of silence
Perhaps the faint
Sounds of
Morning chimes
Or soft whispers
From stirring leafs
And the golden ball
Of fire
Felt from the sun
The stillness
Ah the stillness
Time for thinking
Gentle thoughts
Before the noise
Of day
Joins in

Saw a Jay today
Showing off
Flitting from.tree
To tree
A woodpecker near by
Making decisions
For a wholesome tree
Robin's singing
Crows joining
In chorus
A wondrous show
For so early
In the morning
I think I'll stay
Awhile longer

Stared at me
From.a naked branch
Revealing a hidden
Shade of grey
And a vibrant
Shade of blue
Yesterday I heard the
Lake as she danced
In the wind
Who knows what
Tomorrow will bring
But I am ready
With open eyes
To see what I
Will find
And I can't forget
To send a thank you note
To my Creator
In my dreams

Geese are honking
Flying overhead
Time to.put
Dinner on
Owls are hooting
Time for bed
Roosters crowing
Time to get up
Cows are moo ing
Time for milking
Dogs barking
Waiting to be walked
While  cats purr
Waiting for milk
How do animals
Know what time
It is
What happens when
You Spring forward
Fall back

Coming from a
Morning walk
I saw you.
I don't even
Know you
But you looked
In your empty
Mailbox
Shook.your head
And shrugged
Your shoulders
Were you. Looking
For a special letter
One that lovers
Only send
Were you hoping
To hear from
A family member
Or were you
Just hoping even
To see advertisements
To remind you
You weren't alone

Never liked football
I thought it was too violent
Now I watch it
As much as I can
I wonder if that means
I am violent
What about the sound
From crashing helmets
Knowing someone could
Get hurt
Or the big pile up
And the poor one
At the bottom
Am I violent
Or do sports
Count

Lit a candle
Just for you
But you went
And blew.it out
I brought you
A sandwich
To work
You threw it down
I tried to make
You laugh
You growled
At me
I.opened the door
You closed it
You said  hello
Now I say goodbye

Helmets are crashing
The fans are cheering loudly
Who will win the game

If we are the land
Of milk and honey
When did it sour
And lose its' sweetness
Or did it

Sometimes something is
Right in front
Of us
We miss it
But it may
Never be seen
Again

I have struggled before
And I will struggle again
Do I get up.from
Where I have fallen
Or do I just stay
Planted on the floor
Do I rise above
Or sink below
Perhaps I shall cover
Myself with thoughts
And let words
Take over

My poem is ruined
As water washes
Away my thoughts
Was dropping my
Cold glass of
Tangerine sparkling water
A deliberate act
Or did I really
Have something
To say

Covid dreams racing
Through my mind
Going at full speed
Avoiding obstacles
Along the way
One hurdle after
Another
Avoiding crashing
But cannot brake
Spinning in circles
Stirring up dust
And making
Lots of noise
Where is the
Finish line
I ask
Gasping for air

Tossing and turning
Thoughts are swarming through my mind
Busy as a bee

I liked sadness
Or so I thought
Until Nature
Presented herself
Before me
Where moonlight
And starlit skies
Danced before me
And the magic
Sound of frogs
Croaked goodnight
Amidst the stilling waters
The hush of mommas
Singing sweet lullabies
To their children
Dogs waiting by their
Master's slippers
Hoping for one
Last walk
Fires glowinginside
Sending signals of smoke

Perhaps it's not
So bad after all
To join in

But a glare and

Circled around its'
Owners' legs

To be held
And stroked
Gently down her spine

A sip of milk

Would do nicely
And a dream
Of catching a mouse
Even better

I found you
Not a moment
Too soon
Tucked within

Just when I thought
All was lost
You appeared in
