Silent Night

    In the darkness, alone I sit
With just the flicker of one candle lit
As random thoughts flow, through my mind
Let my words be thoughts refined

No matter your troubled heart
Don’t let your life fall apart
Settle yourself deep therein
Find your strength and peace within

Take yourself to a secluded nook
Close your eyes,visualize a peaceful brook
For yourself take some time
In the night find beauty sublime

When your world has gone awry
And your sorrow escapes in tears you cry
Let Jesus be that flicker of one candle lit
Open thy heart and eyes, and focus on it

You will feel his holiness
His warm embrace and gentle kiss
And take that heart felt flight
And you’ll know the joy of a silent night

Why

     When I was younger,
I just wanted to die
There were times I didn’t want to get
Out of bed, I still did but I don’t know why

There were so many times that I
Would just lay there and cry
Through my darkness, I couldn’t see
And I was constantly asking why

She was broken and she
Was barely getting by
Her past was nearly just as bad
And she couldn’t understand why

We both had bad father’s
And her Ex was a bad guy
Neither one of us ever felt really loved
What was the reason why

We both survived somehow
Though we really didn’t try
There just had to be a reason
But we didn’t know why

Then one day by chance or was it
We happened to pass each other by
But we missed our chance at the time
And we’ll never know why

And as I look back on it now
My memories around my head they fly
My thoughts drifting in the wind
I realize nothing is by chance, ask me why

When we finally met face to face
We couldn’t fight it, so it was best to comply
The feeling was overwhelming
We couldn’t explain why

Some things are meant to be
Just like in physics certain laws apply
God and his band of Angels
Are the answer and the reason why

Yet Venomous Is The Lie


    William J Donovan wrote and I quote
                                 Poison

                           Truth is poison
                             This monster’s
                              Back in town
                            Stay away from
                        My door. don’t come
                       Around here no more.
                    Shut the windows down.
                         Poison is the truth.

This is my reply at the risk of miss interpretation. After reading it twice
I feel his anger in what seems to be about
A good love gone bad. The truth is deadly
It’s over so don’t come around love bites
And love kills, the truth is poison and poison is the truth.  I hope that I am right.

I’m gonna work a different angle
Go in opposite direction but his words
Are the inspiration.

     Yet Venomous Is the Lie

    Poison is the truth
The truth is poison, this is our life
Today’s world, today’s problems
This is today’s strife

What’s good is evil
What’s right is what’s wrong
We’re living in turmoil
We don’t hear the lyrics in the song

The Devil in this time, he reigns
For he is the master deceiver
Oh Lord please have mercy
For the non believer

For they let themselves be tricked
They cannot see through the disguise
What they see is their truth
But blind are their eyes

I pray that they soon realize
The reality before they die
Truth is not poison
Yet Venomous is the lie

Is not poison yet venomous is the lie and
The great deceiver will always disguise the
lie in the way of the truth, therefore
It can seem like you've been bitten by the
poisonous truth but underneath the
disguise it was nothing more than the
venomous lie.

Let Me Be Your Light

     I can see you when you put
Your head in your hands
And I know of your anger when
You feel that no one understands

I watch you as you struggle
Trying to get by on your own
And I know that even surrounded
By people you still feel all alone

You’ve never needed anyone
You’ve made it this far
You’ve showed everyone just
Just who the heck you are

But you’ve spread yourself so thin
And your world is falling down
And your reaching out to anyone
But there’s no one around

I know you so well because I’m Jesus
I can help you in your plight
Just give yourself to me and
Let me be your light

No Surrender

      Oh that Devil he’s persistent
Like a bully he’s the ultimate offender
But compared to Jesus, he’s barely
What we consider a worthy contender

He’s more like a wannabe
Just a deceiving pretender
And when he attacks me, I turn
To Jesus my ultimate defender

But there was a time when the Devil
Was easily the best tempter
And I’d drink to ease my pain and my
Best friend was my bartender

But that was a long time ago
I was so much younger
And my mind was weaker
And my heart was more tinder

I would easily just raise the white flag
But now I know Jesus and his splendor
And now I raise my fist and my voice
And I scream to the Devil no surrender

Missing Beautifully Broken

     She was smart and witty
But her pen name told her story
It tells us that she’s been hurt
And her heart lives in purgatory

Through her pain
Her wit made me smile
But our friendship lasted
For just a short while

We shared our poetry here
And in doing so we shared our soul
My darkness from a childhood past, hers
From a love washed down a drain hole

But through our pain, hello poetry
Gave us a place to bond
And it allowed us to be vulnerable
And to correspond

But now she has disappeared
Her face and poetry are gone
Just like the night disappears
To give way to a new dawn

Now my heart breaks because words
Written and read are like words spoken
Hello poetry will never be the same
Now that it’s Missing Beautifully Broken 💔

A Drop Of Rain

    When you’re down and feeling lost
Like a needle in the hay
When the darkness surrounds you
And you feel you’ve lost your way

When the world doesn’t know your name
And it seems like you’re just a number
And if it seems you’re living in a never ending storm with constant lightning and thunder

Just hold on to your faith
And know that Jesus will carry you
And soon before you know it
The light will come shining through

And you can hold your head high
Because your faith was strong
And in your heart you know that Jesus
Can make right whatever was wrong

And if you ever start to feel sad
And your heart begins to fill with pain
You’ll know you never have to fear
Another day, with a drop of rain
