Nurse Angels

      It’s an evil world we live in
And the Demons hide in the shadows
Down below is where they call home
Where the fire burns and the smoke billows

Satin is their king and he loves his little
Games and he whispers in our ears
He loves to cause chaos and he uses
The media to play on our fears

Every day problems can bring us down
But we must see our way through
It gets harder each day to keep our faith
But it’s something we must all do

And if you ever find yourself in the hospital
Because life threw you a curve
There’s something I know from experience
And I’m sure you too will observe

The Devil and his demons are no match
For God and he’s covered all the angles
And one of those many ways is because
He gave us all Nurse Angels

Entity

        As an individual I am one within
Myself as an independent identity
A living breathing form of life
Science would explain me as an Entity

I am and you are no different than
The rock or the flower or the tree
We are all one with all of Earths wonder’s
Each as special as the dog, bird and bee

I once wore a shirt that had a print
That read I am special, I am me
This is true but it applies to all
I am sure with this it’s easy to agree

But we are not so special that we can
Put ourselves above the others
No matter our riches or fame or power Because we’re all sisters and brothers

That’s right you heard me clearly
This is our real glorious reality
Our God the Creator he made everything
And we’re all one big entity

Unsaid

    To everyone in my family
I know that I’m just a big egghead
And if I ever hurt you, I apologize
And I just didn’t want it to go unsaid

Sometimes actions and words can cut
Like a knife, though blood is never bled
And I hope I never caused any pain
And I just didn’t want it to go unsaid

I love you all, though time has passed us
By like water flows through a riverbed
life has separated us and I miss us
And I can’t let it go unsaid

I forgive for the times that I felt I wasn’t
Treated right I put it out of my thick head
I hope you can all do the same and
I just didn’t want it to go unsaid

So please if I’ve ever hardened your heart
Don’t let these words be misread
I truly love all of you and I just couldn’t
Let it go, no I just couldn’t let it go unsaid

Someone I Use To Know

   In the darkness
I’m sitting all alone
The silence is broken
By the tone of my phone

The caller ID reveals your name
I just let it ring
The memories of you began to flow
Once you were my everything

I remember falling in love and holding on
Like taking the bull by the horns
Forgetting that love is fragile as the rose
As the tears flow I feel the pain of thorns

It’s unimaginable to be here now
With a heart that’s broken
As the phone rings again I can see your name
Again but I have no words to be spoken

I remember how seeing your name on my
Phone would make me glow
But you threw it all away and now you’re
Just someone I use to know

Soon There Be Snow

     Spring is just a distant memory
Now that the crispness of Fall has settled in
The wood has been chopped for the fire
To warm the chill of spine and skin

All the preparations have been made
But nothing can truly prepare
The harshness of winter is for nothing
But the Abominable and the Polar bear

Summer has slipped away, its heat long
Forgotten and hidden by clouds of grey
As Winter is knocking on the door
Adding to my dismay

I know that I must accept it because
I know the seasons will change
It would definitely be weird without it
But I would welcome the strange

So I guess there’s just one thing left to
Do and that’s to stock up with Bordeaux
For one thing is for certain
Soon there be Snow

You Can’t Hold Me No More

    Well you took me by surprise
Just one look into your eyes
I was caught in your witches spell
And your diva head began to swell

I thought I’d never get away
As you were desperate that I stay
And I became a prisoner of doubt
As I told myself there was no way out

And I was just like so many that came before
You scratched another notch another score
And I just needed to believe in me
To be able to set myself free

As the years slowly passed me by
Hope was lost with each tear I would cry
And In my darkness I saw a flicker of light
And I heard a whisper telling me to fight

And somehow I was able to survive
Waiting for this day to arrive
I saw an opportunity to slip out the door
And now you can’t hold me no more

When Jesus Comes

   It doesn’t matter where you come from
The richest of Hollywood or from the slums
All that matters is what’s in your heart
And soul when Jesus comes

Your decisions take you on your path
And determine what your life becomes
So please choose wisely so you’re in
The right place when Jesus comes

No one is perfect so don’t be quick to judge
We must control the flame of our tongues
Hate has no place in Heaven and it won’t
Be acceptable when Jesus comes

So I pray that you ask for forgiveness
And let his love flow like the River runs
Give thanks and praise so you’ll be
Prepared when Jesus comes

Let there be no doubt when you hear
The trumpets and the drums
That your heart mind and soul are where
They need to be when Jesus comes
