Have family and friends
They are busy with their own lives especially this time of year
Thankful for being a poet and a writer
Bless December Bluebirds
Bless ducks, geese, and turkeys roaming free in the most unexpected places
Squirrels seriously overfed with bananas smeared with almond butter
Along with a variety of shelled unsalted nuts
Rain circles and raindrops
Sunny days
Walking twenty five miles a week for the ASPCA on Charity miles app
Being a loner is fine for me

For Excelsior, Onward and Upward
For honoring and remembering
For new stars in the galaxy
For marking time and place
Ring them long and loud
Ring them strong and clear
Ring them as you mark your personal victory as a survivor
Ring them so friends and family can cheer
Ring the bells and and let the chime carry you through
So you do the very best you can and more than you thought you were capable of

Watch the rain glisten on the yellow leaves as the sun tries to come out
Even on the windiest and colder days in December her leaves are full of sunshine
Every shade of yellow but lemony and lovely
As you watch the rain circles near the ducks in the pond
The warmer days of December come back to your memories
As the cities come back to life with visitors
As Christmas, Kwanza, and Chanukah celebrations take their shape
The Beech tree kept me company and happy on a lonely December day
Reminding me of better days to come

How much love does it take to find a strength that you never thought you possessed?

How much love does it take when a parent hates your beloved and reminds you for the rest of your life even though you are incredibly happy together but favors your sibling's spouse over yours?
