I wish I was there right now
Circumstances and distance aside, I am
Things get better but the pain and hurt just ease up
Trust me tears flow when I least expect it
Excused myself and hold my head up high
Look for rainbows and butterflies
My loved ones know they are missed
The funny part is that when one least expects it they seems to be around
If there are Angels, then they are there and everywhere

Before U Tube
Before the internet
Before cell phones
You didn't question your parents
You did what you were told
Friends ,if you had any, were not permitted to visit you at home
Rules were not broken
They broke you in
Those latchkey kids with keys on their chains
Grew up lonely, depressed, with limited social skills
Without poetry and writing, their eulogies never would be written or heard
Let’s just say I know and read between the lines
Highly sensitive people know who they are

Bid Farewell to Before and Welcome to After
It was only yesterday but sometimes letting it go
frees you in ways you never imagined
You should remember who and what was
On the road for today and towards tomorrow
It was only yesterday leave it there
Enjoy being who you are

Not for lack of interest but their platonic pledges
They never saw me just air brushed beauty in the media
Never thought love would find me
Never thought it was deserved or out there
Out if the blue when the search ended
You found me
So stop looking and the very best will come to call
Forty three years ago in September
The very best came into my life
Married 42 years this coming October
My treasure and joy
