I ain't Chasing, girl
Been there, Done that
But when the sun goes down
I'll be pullin' into your drive
In hopes to make a night
That we both remember

Flying down that ol' dirt road
The crescent moon above leading the way
One hand on the wheel
Ice cold Jacks sitting in the console
My girl shoots me that smile
That makes my heart go wild
And the clock on the dash is stuck on 12

That dirt road's my road
There's no turning back
The rules are clear
9 - 5, 5 days a week
Then church on Sunday's
And a Friday night bonfire
Nothin' else in mind but falling in love

By the time we got there
The fire was already burin'
My buddies lettin' loose
Neath the blue sky, Starlight
Let’s forget about Monday morning
And just dance in the moonlight

I sit on the tailgate
Sippin' on my whiskey
Watchin' my girl
As she kicks her heels off
And starts to spin around
In the light of the of moon shining bright

She pulls me over
I throw my arms around her
Never gonna let her go
Her baby blues, pulling me in
I've been waiting for this all night
For that sweet strawberry kiss

Holding her in my arms
Under the stars of a mid-summer night
She fell asleep an hour ago
But I lie awake, as the fire burns bright
The music fades away
Before closing my eyes
I whisper to myself, I'm in love
Started off as originally as song lyrics but turned into a country poem

Out of mind, out of sight
This stories far from over
And the endings mine to make
Round and round you shall go
In Wonderland you shall be
I am as mad as a hatter
Or by those who no me
I am the Mad Hatter
Ask yourself
What if it was different....
What if the hatter had a secret
What if the hatter was evil
No one would see it comin'
He'd be the unlikely foe
How different would it have been
Lurking from shadows
The fixed piece on the board
Bit by bit the world
Will tremble
Alice and friends be puppets
All the world a stage
Darker and darker
The plot thickens
Till he reveals
He's true self
I certainly don't own the Alice in Wonderland series or characters but the works have interested me for sometime especially in this case... I have always wondered what would have happened if the Mad Hatter was the bad guy.

I know what your thinking
Was it always this way
Was it always a broken home
Wish I could tell you, it wasn't
but your mother and I
Were just a temporary spark

I need you to know
It that doesn't matter
For you, will always be
My first child
I won’t lie
I've never been more scared
Then the thought of never meeting you
Never getting to know you
It was the moment I first saw you
All black and white
That I felt what love truly meant
Out of lust
Comes something so precious
So amazing

I finally had a reason
A reason to be
And that was you
I'm not a great man
Not a hero
Truth is
I wouldn't even consider myself
A good man
I've done things, I regret
To get to where I am, today
I’ve been so Lost
My head all up, in the clouds
Living every day, at a time
No future, no desires
Beyond the moment
I've seen what evil is
In the man I was meant to look up to
Turned my life, into what it's become
Created a fear that lives deep inside
Your granddad is my biggest nightmare
But you'll never know what he's done
Because you don't need to worry
My past will not be yours
As long as I live!

I thought I had to fight wars
To prove I was different
But making sure my boy
Never grows up, fearing his old man
Making sure I'm your hero
I don't need the world, I only need your love
Your respect.
And most of all, your forgiveness
For all that I've done
All that I yet to do
Because I'll protect you with my life
Even if it’s against your own family
You will always have me

My darling boy!
1+4+3
Needs no explaining!
